"AVG detects as malware/Trojan virus. Boo!"

    March 15, 2011  |   By EverythingIsTaken

None. Refused to use the program since it was detected as a Trojan virus during installation and I immediately quarantined it.

AVG detected the program as a Trojan virus during installation. This is very unfortunate, because I was excited to use the program after reading the first several reviews, which all had great things to say about the program.

Tried to give zero stars, but my submission was denied because of since I didn't give any star rating. The first FLV to MOV converter I came across through a CNET link in a Google search indicated the download was spyware free, but the only two reviews warned that it was a virus, so I avoided this one. Freemake had numerous reviews and most were touting the program as great. The CNET download link again indicated it was tested spyware free. I think it's very poor of CNET to allow these downloads to remain available. There should be a better screening process to ensure that downloads provided through this reputable source are in fact safe.

Of course your computer says it looks like a virus. It lets you download things from the internet. Just because it uses some similar code to trojans doesn't mean it's a trojan, you just have to ignore the warning. It really is very good.
