Version: FreeRip MP3 3.1
"Tons of options, yet not the only one..."
Pros: FreeRip is a great program, and it just simply works the way it's supposed to. It has tons of options (such as amazing bit-rate control and other such things), looks clean (a little cluttered, but plain and efficient), and does its job in a timely fashion (an average CD takes about five minutes on my extremely slow CD drive).
So, plain and simple, it does what it's supposed to. If you want a good ripper, there's no better place to look.
Cons: If you have any media player on your computer, chances are it already has the ability to rip CD's. Windows Media Player comes with every PC, for example, and it rips fine. So unless you really need control over your output music, there's no real reason to bother with the download, because it doesn't offer anything over the top for the mainstream music lover.
It also has several advertisements along the installation route, not too many, but enough to warrent a comment.

Version: FreeRip MP3 3.1
Pros: I love music and am constantly looking for good software regarding it. I've tried 'em all. Most I get rid of, but not this one. It really works nice! It's fast. It is very user friendly. Has many options for conversion/ripping. It is small and has a very small footprint on resources. For anybody looking for a inexpensive and highly functional ripper/converter, take a look at this. Real ear candy. :o)
Cons: The user interface (the look of it) is plain ugly. For some reason when I rip a CD at VBR 192 Min - 320 Max mp3, none of my cataloging software reads the bitrate properly. It always says 31 or something in that area. I also get some really weird track lengths. A 4 minute song may read as a 20 minute song. If you share music via a p2p client then this can be fatal. However when playing the music, my players recognize the actual bitrate and track length. Strange.... Can anybody explain?

Pros: This is nothing fancy or ground breaking but it does what all the basics and is free.
Cons: It took 3 attempts to uplaod and configure - be prepaed to take a little extra time for a free product.
