"People need to read more before posting comments"
Version: FreeRIP 3.66
Pros
It does the job, and it is not too bad an interface, tries to keep it simple and user friendly, but makes it that bit more convoluted for more advanced users, but hey it's free!
Cons
Yes it wants to install a toolbar - BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO, YOU CAN SAY 'NO'
Yes it is slow - BUY THE FULL VERSION IF YOU WANT SPEED!
Listen people, hard to believe, but companies don't write software for the happiness it brings, they want to sell it, and this App, does the "Buy the full version" nagging as nicely as you can hope for. It does not limit how much you convert, it just slows it a little. If speed is all important, then buy the full version, is that too much to ask? -

"Tries to install Yahoo Search bar"
Version: FreeRIP 3.66
Pros
I'm sure it works great just fine like everyone says but 2.5 immediate points off for attempting to load a bunch of junk into my browsers. The default case just lists a bunch of stuff to install including "toolbars" which I recognized as code for "Get ready to have Yahoo et all slammed at ya whether you like it or not! Have fun getting rid of it.
Cons

Hate software that does this stuff - and they're pretty sneaky about it. -

"Forces rip @ 192 kbps; questionable privacy"
Version: FreeRIP 3.65
Pros
It may well work if you only need a simple rip.
Cons
The MP3 rip rate is 192 kbps. Won't go higher as I need it to. Also, the EULA says "It does not collect any personally identifiable information from or about you," and "FreeRip does not collect any personally identifiable information about you (such as your name, email address, etc.). The only information collected from you are general preferences you may supply during the setup process and your IP address, and none of that information is attributable to you specifically."
Yet paragraph 2 also says "Your IP address may also be used to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information that is anonymous in nature and is not associated with particular individuals. Other anonymous information may be gathered for use in providing advertisements." Being identified and kept anonymous? Would you trust that contradictory guarantee? I don't.Summary
Might give you a cookie cutter rip at mediocre quality, but don't expect your Internet usage will be anonymous while FreeRips tracks it.
