Version: FreeRAM XP Pro 1.52
"Not for me!"
Pros: I think it work...I'm not really sure. :(
Cons: I'm running on 248 RAM (technically 256 but...) and currently have 60 + background processes. When FreeRAM XP Pro was freeing RAM, it completely slowed my system to the point that I could not do anything until it was finish. There is no official way to uninstall the program, and I'm hoping that deleting all the files will do the trick. And I'm not even sure if it helped my system in the first place. My verdict: try it and decide for yourself!

With 256 MB of RAM and over Sixty background processes I don't know how you can do anything ever? - You need to upgrade your RAM, it would likely only cost you $25-35 dollars to add 1GB(not MB). You can message me if you need assistance figuring out which memory you need and recommendations on the best place to purchase it from. - Good luck.

I hate saying this, but this program was never going to work for you. You have far too many background running processes. And too little memory.
In this day and age for XP to run at least half way decently you need 512 , but I suggest you get 1 megs. depending on your motherboard up to 3 megs for XP and at least 3 megs if running vista.
I've had this program for years and it works great if you use it properly. It is a memory manager, not a memory miracle maker! -
Great review. Really. I much prefer learning what people have found to be cons as opposed to all of the pros. It is the cons that determine what problems I will probably have and not the pros. Most people only see the pros, and that part of a program is OK, but it is the cons that will create the "uninstall" mentality and whether or not to download it in the first place.

Uninstalling: Click on the Information menu in the program window (not in the
system tray), and select the uninstall option. See their website
(http://www.yourwaresolutions.com) for an image showing where to access the uninstall option in the program. -
If you have 60+ background processes going at once with only that much RAM, you need to consider downloading a program which should cut down on the amount of start up programs. Having that many programs running at once, WILL slow your computer down. Download an app called "Whats Running", and use it to edit your start up programs. Also use a good anti anti spy and adware program to scan for some possible malware processes on your computer.

With 256 RAM I found XP PRO in the toolbar essential as a counter for when my system was running out of RAM & needed a boost and which apps. were greediest. Now I have a luxurious 2G RAM and XP PRO shows me I have 1.4G to spare instead of 60MB, as in the old days. But the utility is still a very useful reminder, clearly and unfussily presented, of some of the rules of good housekeeping on a PC. Not a miracle worker, but a five star utility..
