Version: FreeRAM XP Pro 1.52
"Good but doens't play well with Firefox"
Pros: Constantly monitors your systems ram
Cons: Seems to lock Firefox up after freeing up RAM. Firefox become unresponsive for several minutes afterwards.

Advanced Sytem Care Free tool will also free ram regularly without any side effects.

I'd check elsewhere, at least it has no problems with my Firefox.

Firefox works just fine with this program after freeing up RAM. To nobleserf...he didn't exactly give you a heads up. This is quite an old review and Firefox has obviously been changed since then because I don't experience any problems when freeing up RAM when Firefox is running.

Thanks for the heads-up. I am a dedicated Firefox fan. That's my biggest problem with software selection - finding Firefox friendly software. I was just about ready to download. Good thing I spotted your comment. Good work. Thanks.

FWIW, I've used FreeRAM 1.52 and FF 1.5 for many moons and I've had no problems.

Hello... I had used FreeRam for many years. It was something I always installed on my computers. But... not anymore. I don't know what has changed in the software... nor can I explain it. But, it now seems to actually slow the computer... makes it just a tad bit sluggish... and, will almost lock the machine up when it has been sitting idling with the screen saver on. My computer runs better without FreeRam than with. I have 1gb of ram and generally have about 550mb free. I figure from this point forward... I'll be fine as is.
