Even if you're not a RAM whiz, you can still easily free up RAM on your running system? By selecting AutoFree mode and then 'go,' FreeRAM XP Pro can automatically optimize your system, balancing levels between your memory cache and the computer's speed. Those with a little more RAM know-how can specify the amount they'd like freed in the program's extensive settings menu. Remember that attempting to free up more RAM than your system can handle will subsequently slow it down. Reporting options, a slew of memory monitoring tools, and the ability to place a preset of your memory settings to the desktop are reasons to try FreeRAM XP Pro.

Version: FreeRAM XP Pro 1.4
"Excellent product! gives you A LOT of RAM without taking much itself"
Pros: 1. Gives you A LOT of RAM
2. You can schedule when to free RAM
3. You can tell it what the maximum amount of RAM you want until freeing RAM
4. Very easily understood interface
5. Free!
Cons: None that I have found yet! However, someone commented that this program just stores all that RAM in paging files. This is not true. In fact, I found that after using FreeRAM, my Paging File Usage somehow decreases.

Version: FreeRAM XP Pro 1.4
Pros: It'll free up some RAM
Cons: Though it frees up some RAM, it'll slow down the overall preformance of your PC. At first I thought it was because of all the programs I had open at once, but after rebooting and using the PC for 2 days and not openning many huge programs, again it seriously slowed down the preformance. I uninstalled it and my overall preformance was a lot better!

Version: FreeRAM XP Pro 1.4
Pros: It does what it says it does. Refreshes memory.
Cons: There is better programs and it can be done manually. Other programs such as Ram Idle Professional do more than just refresh memory. They improve swapping of virtual memory which helps keep memory usage low. I am no computer expert, but I believe you can set your Windows operating system to dump unused DLL files from memory when a program closes or is no longer in use via registry. If you are up to it, this is better in my opinion than having third party external program that uses memory itself to refresh memory at regular intervals, or when memory usage is dangerously low. I tried RAM Idle Pro a long time ago, and it did really work on a 64MB memory filled computer with Windows 98SE loaded. This definitely doesn't compare to the shareware product of RAM Idle Pro. I still get crashes in Windows 98SE. I think it made it worse. RAM Idel Pro made the system run almost like a NT system. These programs in my opinion are best for memory sensitive operating systems that crash because of faults to memory. I don't think this is needed for Windows 2000/XP at all, but this program can actually make things worse.

Version: FreeRAM XP Pro 1.4
Pros: Well, figuratively speaking, they practice what they preach.
Cons: Free RAM is wasted RAM. Being a long time user (6 months!! Wow...[ :) ]), from experience, if you're going to free up your RAM, the RAM that you PAID for, you might as well return it, because apparently, you aren't going to use it anytime soon.

Version: FreeRAM XP Pro 1.4
"Great for systems non-NT based"
Pros: Fast, very efficent, and very effectve. Used it on my Win95 and WinME system and i dont see how i lived without it. However, this does not need to be used on Win2K and i dont suspect it needs to be sed on XP either becasue of the builtin DMA (dynamic memory allocation) that automatically free's up ram after use, confirmed when i emailed the devloper about it. Its free, so a big plus there. Small so fast download.
Cons: None i can see...
