"Freezes on fast machine. Only Scans ONE (1) IP Address!"
Version: FreePortScanner 2.8.5
Pros
If you want something that SPAMS you to their page to sell you other stuff, this is it.
Cons
Most notable for what it WON'T do.
Only will scan ONE (1) single IP, not a range. It freezes even fast machines (I tried it on 3 machines, one running XP, one running Vista, and one running Win7). Ya know, I don't see Win7 freeze very often. Gotta be some seriously clunky code to do that. Sheesh. Takes its sweet time to do so little.Summary
Run and hide. Run and hide.

"OK, but..."
Version: FreePortScanner 2.0
Pros
It caught all the open ports.
Cons
Very slow and tried to covertly send email to some unknown recipients!

"Just too slow"
Version: FreePortScanner 1.8
Pros
It detected all of the open ports on the IP address that I directed it to scan.
Cons
Slow. Now, if you only want to scan a few ports, it's fine, but I wanted to scan everything, and it takes quite a while to even scan 100 ports. It didn't save any settings, so even though I ran many instances of the program, I had to re-enter the IP address and the "Don't show closed ports" checkbox, which again, I wouldn't mind doing this once and let a quick program run, but I had a slow program and I had to do this each time in order to get any sort of decent speed. It's inconvenient at best, even though there seemed to be no flaws otherwise.

Pros
Very easy to use, and a great way to test the security of any network devices.
