Version: FreeOCR 1
Cons: It's OK if your image doesn't have mixed text and graphics, otherwise you have lots of headaches, the free version doesn't support zoning, or PDF output, or HTML output, it doesn't offer any advanced image processing filters, nor does it have error/spell correction, and if you want to have a language other than english you need to find, download and install yourself the proper language files. It's just a simple GUI on a free Software OCR engine, but worth the price :)

"Excellent! This works great for basic needs of grabbing text from an image."
Pros: I downloaded this software to input raw data from older factory equipment printouts. It worked great! It made it a lot easier than having to type everything in manually.

Pros: Has a built in scan button many other OCRs you have to scan with another program and then load it into the OCR.. this works great, so far.

Pros: It was able to extract text from a jpg image when two other ocr programs I have could not. No brainer to use as well.
