"Fast and easy. Worked great with Windows 7."
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
The transfer rate is amazingly fast, and program is easy to use.
Cons
It doesn't transfer the file properties to the destination folder as Jodix claims so some manual data entry is necessary. Other than that, I thought it worked great.
Summary
I was impressed with this program. It works fast and it's easy to use. Having to add file properties is the only drawback that I can see with this FREE program.

"Worked brilliantly"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
This downloaded quickly, installed straightforwardly and runs (as far as I can tell) perfectly. All in Windows 7. I have a recorder that only records in WMA format (annoyingly) so a converter was vital. This seems to have done the trick. Thanks guys.
Cons
None so far
Summary
Great. Can't see any problems.

"Doesn't work with Windows 7."
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
Works for XP and lower, I know this because I used to use it on my XP system. I've upgraded to Windows 7, and nada.
Cons
Does not work with Windows 7.
Summary
Once a useful tool, now needs upgraded or debugged to fit with the times. If you have Windows XP, you're good.

"Quick, Easy, and Helpful"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
This is a really good program and I would recommend installing it if you want a quick, light, hassle free Mp3 Converter.
The installation process took about 15 seconds, converting 1 song took about 10 seconds and the software is only 3mb in size.Cons
There is only 1 which is the fact that you have to re-enter all the information about the song after the conversion is complete eg. album, artist, year, genre, lyrics
Summary
Light, Quick, Wonderful

Cons

"Worthless - but this has to be 10 characters long"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
None - but this has to be 10 characters long
Cons
I was hopeful I would be one of the lucky ones for which this app actually works - I wasn't. It did not work at all. Well, it runs, but will not read a WMA file because it says I need DirectX 8.1 or higher - which I have (Windows 7 with DirectX 11).
Summary
It appears from my experience and from others, if you are running Windows 7 don't waste your time with this.

"Downloaded a dud"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
Quick to install but that's where it ends.
Cons
Well...everything else except for the quick installation.
Summary
Given that C Net recommended this, I expected it to actually work - it didn't. It's interesting to see that the software either works perfectly for some people but doesn't do a thing for others - WHY?
The first time I ran it, I checked the FAQ section for reasons why it didn't work. It said to ensure that I had updated versions of Windows Media Player and DirectX, so I did that and it still didn't work! Silly me for then uninstalling the software, reinstalling it and restarting my computer because it still failed after that. The lack of troubleshooting here is crap. Don't bother - find something else and save your time. -
"Didn't work - hijacked my homepage"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
None whatsoever - total waste of my time
Cons
Simply did not work. It installed fine (while also installing other malware, such as the crap that hijacked my homepage), but then kept telling me I needed DirectX 8.1.
Well... as I am running Windows 7 with DirectX 11, that would seem to be a problem. Not sure who hoodwinked c-net into recommending this, but they did a great job. C-net is above junk like this - or at least it should be.Summary
Avoid at all costs.

"Doesn't work"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
Seriously? Nothing.
Cons
When you try to use it, it pops up an error message that says "...You need update your DirectX to version 8.1" After you upgrade-- it still gives the error message.
Summary
Complete waste of time. Skip this one.

"Works Absolutely Perfectly"
Version: Free WMA to MP3 Converter 1.16
Pros
Simple, easy to use. Interface is simple and straight forward. Variety of samples for converting to different quality levels of .mp3--320kps being the best. Conversion speed is FAST: took me under 1 minute to convert 20 .wma files to 320kps 44100 Hz Dual Channel Stereo .mp3's. Plus it's free! This converter works perfectly with Windows 7 64-bit. If you have to convert .wma's to .mp3, look no further: this is the app to use.
Cons
None, not a single one.
Summary
Excellent application. I'd like to thank Jodix Technologies & CNet for sharing this.
