Fast, effective, and does exactly what it says. And, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it can extract an MP3 from a youtube video directly. Nice bonus there. Alternate output formats would be nice, but *shrug* mp3 is nearly universal outside of linux. And for freeware... its exceeded my expectations.

So far, it's pretty easy to use. I have tried so many different things to convert video to audio, and this was the answer to my prayers.
Cons
The only thing I don't like is that it doesn''t load my whole DVD, so there's a little bit that I can't convert. But I haven't stopped looking for more tricks and tips from this software, yet. But still, this hasn't discouraged me from using this converter. Thanks!

If you want to extract the sound of video, then this is all you need. It does what it says with very good results. Small and useful tool. Simple and comprehensive interface. Requires few system resources. You can also choose the quality of the output mp3.
Cons
The output format is mp3 only. No wav, ogg etc.

Like the other Videosoft freeware products, this is very simple but does just what it says. I've converted from mp4 and flv to make mp3's that sound better than the ones I burn from disc on my laptop.

It installs. Ooooh ... Ahhhh...
Cons
I takes my 3g2 file and makes an AWESOME 0 sized mp3 file. Man this rocks! (yeah, that's sarcasm). You have to download the "real" version from the website which of course inserts a watermark. The non-watermark version is $39.95. So, no this is not really "free".
