Version: Free Sound Recorder 6.5
"My opinion should not count."
Pros: My opinion should not count. I installed it, tried only once, then uninstalled it. So how can I evaluate it: for all I know, it might be wonderful...
Cons: I didn't like no responsive feedback from the recorder: I had no idea if it was recording or not. I got one chance to record, so I'd reassurance. [I make mistakes a lot!]

Why give a bad or average review to a product you did not even test properly?
The program's default setting for input is microphone. If you select the wrong input you record no sound. Hence "no responsive feedback from the recorder"
This program has a record level window with many features for display.
This is an amazing program and it is FREE.
You should edit/remove this review.
After I set the proper input, I managed to make a perfect recording from internet streaming audio on the first try.
It doesn't get any better than that.
While the program was recording it showed a full spectrum of sound in the recording level display.
