Read instructions carefully and you'll have no problems. This version fixes most of the bugs that made the previous version UNUSABLE (imho.) Conversion to mp3 was very fast.
Cons
This owner needs to take English 101. And provide a "Save Now" button even though the saving is faster than anything I've seen. Sorry! I too need to take English 101 LOL

Not freeware - this is a 30 day trial. Some of the processing features dont work. The high-pass filter only works in preview, the graphic equalizer doesn't work at all! Saving is disabled after processing is used.
Summary
Why are CNET allowing time trials to be entered at freeware? Do the editors actually do anything?

This product was exactly what I was looking for. I plugged in my microphone, recorded my presentain in MP3 format, then done! I burned it to a CD and done. Free for 30 days NO RESTRICTIONS! This is the most user friendly audio recorder I have used

NONE SO FAR. But just to let you know, there is no save button after recording. The audio recorder automatically saves it im MPS format in My Music Folder. From there, you can open it up in Real Player, Window Media plus! It saves when you press stop
Summary
Bottom line, is that I love this very user friendly audio recorder. You can also download the audio editor, for 30 days but is has restrictions. I plan on upgrading to the Audio & Editing Recorder for $29, so I can get the exact sound i need, cut, add in overlay, and many features with the upgrade. For a 30 DAY FREEWARE...I would recommend this one first to anyone. I use XP pack 3 and no flaws yet!

Since I haven't been able to use the app, all I can say is I like the layout.
Cons
The link provided to get around the audio card/software conflict didn't have what was needed. Wrote pre-sales twice and tech support but no help.
Summary
Trying to work around the problem with audio card/software on my own, but disappointed with their support. The free sound recorder is just for 30 days, but if I could use the app, I'd most likely buy. Otherwise, I'll look elsewhere.
