I've tried several PDF compressor programs, PDF compression software found on the web, only this application offers the best compression ratio by average.
The program consumes about 42MB of memory, however, it does not slow down my Windows 8 during the compression process.Cons
A newer version is available on the publisher's website. If you need PDF version 2.0, you can get the latest version from NicePDF website.
The size of scanned PDF files that generated by HP scanners cannot be reduced. Asked the support, and the reply was 'the PDF files are already compressed by HP software'.Summary

Not ONLY did it not work... when I tried to open my 'newly compressed pdf's', there were NO PAGES. I now have to go back and spend ANOTHER HOUR scanning all the documents I just did an hour ago. What a waste of time! I thought I could trust anything from C-Net... I guess I learned my lesson the hard way!

It absolutely does not work! Displays an error, or creates damaged files. I have searched here and found another app named ADVANCED PDF COMPRESSOR. This app does exactly it should and I'm happy now!

Gives 'error reading cross reference table' when attempting to load a file. Output is 1kb corrupted file.
