You won't find all the bells and whistles that come with similar apps, but this simple, free encryption tool performs as promised.
Free File Encryptor doesn't have much of a user interface. All you have to do is right click on a specific file, and select the encrypt option from your context menu. A prompt appears, asking you to input and confirm a password, and, almost immediately, an encrypted file appears in the same location as the original. Decrypting the file uses the same right-click functionality. Each time we selected a file to encrypt, the program quickly produced an encrypted file. Likewise, we were able to quickly decrypt the same file. The simplicity of this encryption tool makes it perfect for beginners. It should be important to note, that while we were able to manually uninstall the program from our PC, it left an extra file in our program folder that we could not delete.
