Doesn't do the most commonly used formats for free as indicated in the description. If a company LIES about their product then what other deceptions are they up to? NOT TO BE TRUSTED!

CNET REALLY DROPPED THE BALL ON THIS ONE! ANY OTHER PRODUCTS THEY REVIEW WHICH HAVE A FREE VERSION & ALSO A PAID UPGRADE VERSION ARE ALWAYS INDICATED IN THE "QUICK SPECS" SIDEBAR. THIS DOWNLOAD SITE WHICH IS NOW OWNED BY CBS CAN NO LONGER BE TRUSTED!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros
This program seems to have a good hold on converting files. Not only does it work with audio and video files, it will even join them! Everything I've used has worked great. It converts audio files at lightning speed. For videos, it takes a bit longer as you might imagine, depending on the conversion format and the quality you want. However, it's well within reason and performs wonderfully on my dual core Win 7 SP1 64-bit edition PC.
I can't seem to praise this program enough. For its ease of use, I give it an 98 out of 100.Cons

If there is faster processor, conversion and writing is fast.
GUI is very easy to use.
Replaces Nero for me in some aspects.
Uses less CPU, RAM when converting unlike other products I used previously.Cons
I haven't found any cons or deficiencies.

Didn't really get to check it out.
Cons
The thing is that I wanted to convert a video to MPEG. But when I downloaded it and installed it I found out that it only converts to avi and mkv for free. For other formats you have to pay which is not what you look for in a free software.
Summary
If its not free just say it isn't and stop wasting our time.

I believe I got two IE addins from this (first you are asked if they may be installed, but they are installed anyway). Both a pain and a threat to security

The cuda video converter has been such a great help to me, it is my software of choice in converting my videos! Thanks heap for great software.

Summary
Just download it and found that it is available to set the start time and end time. Much easier to trim the video with this version now. I love it to death and thank you for letting me have it.
