"Wholly useless!"
Version: Free CD Ripper 3.1
Pros
I got a chance to kill 20 minutes waiting on my dinner to cook.
Cons
It doesn't work. It will not recognize my cd/dvd drive. Oh yeah, IT INSTALLS ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE.
Summary
CNET, I am disappointed. You really dropped the ball on this one. Allowing adware right on through was really the killer for me.

"Worthless application and waste of time!!!"
Version: Free CD Ripper 3.1
Pros
There are no pros, I'd give it negative stars if I could. It also installed another "coupon" program in the background. Useless and deceptive.
Cons
Same issues as everyone else. CNET "editors" rating is a joke. This app will not detect either drive on my pc. I get the same Class Not Registered error, and yes, whe you exit the stupid app, it open up a browser to a stupid www.focussoft.net.
CNET is basically pushing a known malware application.
Great monitoring CNET editors, thanks for the heads up.Summary
Total waste of time. As others have said, do not download this POC. You will spend quite a bit of time cleaning up after it, and still have files to convert. Total waste of time.

"Perplexed as to why anyone would want this..."
Version: Free CD Ripper 3.1
Pros
If you ever wanted to spend some time unsuccessfully trying to rip CDs or uninstalling crap you never wanted on your computer, download this program ASAP.
Cons
I got error messages both times I tried to rip a CD. So right away a big fail for not even doing the job it's supposed to. But wait, there's more! My browser (Firefox) was now infected with the Claro search bar and something called Wajam, which I'm sure is as useful as it sounds. Once I got rid of these rubbish I then ripped the CD successfully using what I should have used all along - the built in app with my PC.
Summary
Wish I'd read reviews of this before downloading. Move along, nothing worth downloading here.

"Beware It Will Cost You Time and Money To Rid."
Version: Free CD Ripper 3.1
Pros
None at best.
Cons
It wasn't free and all it did was download malware that hijacked my browser on Chrome and Firefox. Should have read the latest reviews.

"DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS PROGRAMME"
Version: Free CD Ripper 3.1
Pros
I didn't wait to find out because I was too distracted by the fact the programme had hijacked my browser.
Cons
It hijacked my browser!
Summary
It installs the Blexo toolbar and hijacks your browser, so that even when you remove Blexo from the list of search engines on your broswer (I use Chrome), it makes no difference and Blexo remains the default search engine. The only way to get rid of it is to uninstall the programme. Beware!
