"Good for the Price."
Version: Free Billiards 2008 1.0
Pros
The pros are that the game is free and relatively easy to download and play.
Cons
The physics are way out of wack in this game. Usually when I break in real life i got balls coming up off the table. In the game i don't see how any sort of legal break is achievable. Balls occasionally get stuck in a pocket causing you to have to X
Summary
The game is free and can definitely waste your time if you want it to. But as far as it being any kind of "Billiards" simulator; it is anything but. I thought it was very sloppy and the physics just weren't there. Without proper physics you got nothing. It is like trying to learn how to play all over again. Get what you pay for... Just being honest. Don't get your hopes up on this.

"Pretty decent entertainment"
Version: Free Billiards 2008 1.0
Pros
Very good physics, nice graphics, if you've played any pool very seriously, you can appreciate how tough the real game is. Medium skill is most realistic. Using English might seem tedious, but if you take the time, it makes tricky shots more fun!
Cons
I was disappointed that the game didn't know the real rules of regulation 8-ball. It takes some experimentation to learn how to control the cue stick, and anything under 25% power is mostly useless, but after that is overcome, it's decent.
Summary
It's entertaining, the graphics are quite good, and the physics are very close to real. The rules to 8-ball are wrong...you make an 8-ball on the break, you win, but NOT IN THIS GAME. Your opponent scratches on the 8-ball, they lose, but NOT IN THIS GAME. So you have get meaner. 9-ball is accurate although I haven't tried a combo-shot yet so I don't know what happens there yet. Moving the cue stick to get some English on the ball might seem a little tedious and takes a little time and effort, but on a tricky shot, it's worth it. Overall, I find it very well done and fun while I'm listening to streaming radio on line or to a ball game on the radio. I'm enjoying this product.
