    "How the mighty have fallen"

    April 17, 2015  |   By enc0ded

    Version: Foxit Reader 7.1.3.320

    Pros

Once good now Foxit has ruined what was a good free lightweight simple easy to use PDF reader

    Cons

Foxit is bundled with a variety of unwanted apps and bloatware, free software trials which constantly change on each update.
Foxit will attempt to install toolbars and change your system settings.
IE Foxit cloud unwanted no option to NOT install or default printer settings changed ,Foxit install it's own "Foxit PDF printer" which crashes also Foxit does not cleanly uninstall leaves lots of entries in the registry folders .

    Summary

I know Foxit wants to make money on adverts etc but given the user no option to uncheck certain features bundled in the program has lost a user

    "New versions crash constantly"

    April 16, 2015  |   By bwprager123

    Version: Foxit Reader 7.1.3.320

    Pros

Used to be the best. Now it is unusable with Win 8.1.

    Cons

Print to pdf plugin for browser (firefox) causes constant crashing. No way around it. The reader itself as a stand-alone also crashes constantly. Stops responding completely; requires hard stop with task manager

    Summary

I would love to know what is a pdf reader that can be used with current version of Windows, MS Word, Firefox, and get on with life already!

    "End of an era!"

    April 16, 2015  |   By kdavison252

    Version: Foxit Reader 7.1.3.320

    Pros

Not as annoying and unstable as Adobe's Reader

    Cons

Easy addition of text and markup to PDF's

    Summary

I've been using Foxit for a long time as it offered so many useful features. As of the last time I updated (7.1.0.306) there have been so many changes that it's no longer useful.
I used to use the Stamp and signature features to quickly drag a stamp in and sign it before forwarding it on to another department. Now the signatures can no longer be dragged over top of a stamp and when I do forward it on, the document won't open claiming that the stamp and signature files are missing.
I frequently organize PDF's via a naming structure. Hitting Save As and naming my files based upon dates, names and other content in my PDF's. Now, Save As changes the viewing tab on the PDF so that I can no longer see the document while I'm saving it. I realize these are minor changes but they present a significant change in the efficiency gained in using Foxit over other solutions.
It feels to me like changes are being made to the software without adequate testing. I can't see any real reason to continue using it now.

"Foxit Reader 7.1.3.320 locks up displaying documents"

    April 12, 2015  |   By randmart65

    Version: Foxit Reader 7.1.3.320

    Pros

    It used to be good.

    Cons

I have used Foxit Reader for several years as my default PDF reader. Version 7.1.3.320 locks up while displaying documents despite reboots and re-installation of a fresh download. I'm now looking for a different, reliable reader.

    Summary

Unless it is fixed quickly, I am done with Foxit

    "Runs circles around Adobe Reader"

    March 13, 2015  |   By Lobo912

    Version: Foxit Reader 7.1.0.0306

    Pros

Been using Foxit for a couple of years now and have had no issues with it. New version 7.1 loads pages much faster than 6.0. Program does everything I've asked of it.

    Cons

Interface is a little quirky and is not necessarily intuitive, so there's a little learning curve.

    Summary

I used to dread working with PDFs because of the instability of Adobe Reader, but with Foxit I'm expanding my usage all the time. Recently created a 50-page PDF document and it went very smoothly.

    "Love the new Foxit Reader"

    March 3, 2015  |   By Barpa21

    Version: Foxit Reader 7.0.6.1126

    Pros

    -Very lightweight and fast
-Have much more tools than any other free software
    -It's free!
-Annotating tools are the best one

    Cons

I haven't found any so far

    Summary

What I like most about Foxit reader is that I can easily share my comments to a PDF document with my team. When I started working at this company, I was the first person using Foxit Reader but later more and more employees start moving to Foxit Reader.
The reasons, there were various employees complaining about the endless annual upgrades from Adobe. Also, few employees were affected by the malware issues that adobe Reader causes. There are still few employees using but great majority of the departments are s using Foxit Reader and they are very happy!

"It's the only game in town!"

    October 2, 2014  |   By hawaiianman79

    Version: Foxit Reader 7.0.3.916

    Pros

Much faster scrolling than Adobe Reader and simpler!

    Cons

Versions 6 and 7 crash when history recent documents is set to "0". The ribbon takes up too much room on low height wide screen monitors, I use the classic toolbar mode.

    Summary

Where else is there to go, all the other free pdf readers are lacking for one reason or another, stick with Foxit.

"Serious issues with latest version (7.0.3.916)"

    September 30, 2014  |   By PoxyPig

    Version: Foxit Reader 7.0.3.916

    Pros

Foxit has been an excellent free PDF viewer over many years.

    Cons

Later versions have become bloated and attempt to install OpenCandy PUP and Foxit Cloud.
I allowed Foxit to update itself to version 7.0.3.916. After that neither the Mozilla plug-in nor the one for IE8 worked. My attempt to install the latest browser plug-in file was thwarted when Foxit refused to recognise their .fzip format.
I've had to do a system restore to get version 6.2.2 back and working.

    Summary

What was a fantastic application has been ruined over the years. An alternative PDF viewer is needed to replace Foxit
