"Great light-weight alternative to Adobe"

Pros
Lightweight, less overhead than Adobe, less security issues. Does 80% of what Adobe does, more than adequate for average PDF use cases.
Cons
Comes with promo-ware, Toolbar etc. Can be unselected.
Summary
Welcome replacement to the increasingly bulky and insecure Adobe offerings. Adobe is also becoming notorious for installing lots of related promo-ware.

Seemed to display PDF files without any problems

Firefox hung trying to download a PDF file as long as Foxit Reader was installed. I had to uninstall FoxitReader to get Firefox to display a pdf file inline. So basically I had to stop using it.
Summary
I couldn't read PDF files in Firefox until I uninstalled Foxit Reader (on Windows Vista Home Premium 64). So the software was basically unusable.

As noted, it looks like a good little reader. I haven't had it long enough to give it a workout. I don't like the installation routine. It tries to install all sorts of unrelated junk. I thought that I had selected no for all of the other stuff during the installation, but when I started FireFox I discovered that the FoxIt installation had installed an Ask.com toolbar. I uninstalled it right away. I don't have anything against Ask.com, but when I want to use it I can find it. I really dislike having things installed on my computer against my wishes.

I don't get it, how can foxit do in 5megs what it takes Adobe 130megs - this product is a winner; I've installed it on all 7 PCs around the family and deleted Adobe with no regrets to-date
