"Lifesaver if you work on two computers!"
Version: FolderShare 2.3.3
Pros
I've used FolderShare for a while, and it has become an invaluable piece of my computing life. Sometimes I forget it's even running. Once I installed it up on my computers and specified what folders I want to keep in sync, it does the rest. Hassle free, and I can continue to work on my computers as I always had. I've been testing out the Mac OS X version, and I'm finally able to keep my iTunes songs in sync between my work PC and my Powerbook at home! Highly recommended!

"Quite awful"
Version: FolderShare 2.3.3
Cons
I had high expectations from their beta release a long time ago, but this is still a very amateurish piece of software. Would not recommend it to the novice user. There are better and cheaper alternatives.

"works great,. worth paying for (for us)"
Version: FolderShare 2.1.2
Summary
I haven't found anything that works like Foldershare at the same price point. My partner and I work in real estate. Our respective offices are 5 miles away both of which are on high speed internet connections.
For our business we created a Foldershare library. Every new client that either she creates or I create goes into a respective sub folder in this library. All client docs go in the client folder...contracts, surveys, etc..
Also all our marketing material are in sub folders.
One advantage is both of us instantly have important crucial client data without having to email each other the information (or call for it). Drop a file in our Foldershare library at either her place or mine and it shows up at the other end almost instantly. It's easy to cover for each other when the client information can be found so easily.
I also have the same Foldershare library setup on my laptop. No more forgotten files.
Like another reviewer I also use Logmein.com but the two services are quite different.
Yes, the licensing is a bit confusing. At the same time it's good to see that Foldershare didn't get greedy. I'm only paying for the basic monthly charge ($6 bucks I think)and it's more than enough for my needs. Should Foldershare try to get $10+ a month for the service I'll start looking for replacement options.
Initially setting up libraries can be confusing until you get the hang of it.
Foldershare works well for our business needs. -

"Very good free version awesome paid version"
Version: FolderShare 2.1.2
Summary
It has a few small bugs with the install and also with firewall config..Aside from these small nuisances it is fantabulous..
I have a foled containing over 10,000 files that I can now share with friends thousands of miles away..
I'm allowed to create group communities and personal ones of only the people that I want to invite.
I can listen to my music from my laptop or from work and transfer any sized file.
Once the file is transferred it remains so I needn't leave my pc running once I have the needed files..
I don't know how anyone could give this a bad review.
Then again I guess some people expect that everything on the web should be free.
With a limit of 1,500 active files for free users I believe this is quite enough to make anyone happy..
Highly recommended.. -
