Remarkably basic , does its one and only job perfectly. Password protection is only at the level of opening the app, not opening every single file being protected, a convenience I like.

Does not default to protected mode when the app is closed. Be sure to turn protection on when you close the program
Summary
The application has one function: to block unwanted access to selected files. It has only four Menu tabs: FILE, to add or remove files, PROTECTION, to set protection level, SEVICE, to set your password, and HELP, for feedback and version info. It has only five buttons: ADD, to add afile to be protected, REMOVE, to remove a file from protection, PROTECTION, none or hidden or locked or hidden and locked or read only, ON turns protection on so that files cannot be accessed, and OFF turns protection off so that files can be accessed. Here's how it works: Click SERVICE and set your password. Click ADD and use the the programs browser link to select the files you want to protect. Click on PROTECTION to chooseyour type of protection. Click the ON button and the files are protected. Click the OFF button and the files are accessible. The only time you are asked for your password is when the program opens. There is no password protection at the file level; if the app is open and running, anyone can make your files accessible. Be sure to turn protection back on and close the app when you are finished with your work.

Summary
Would be a GREAT 5 star program if it worked on Windows 7 64 bit. Especially since that is the way everything is going now.
As an update, I received an email from Privacy-Care Lab support and they confirmed that this version of Folder Defence was for 32 bit only. They did say that they plan to include 64 bit support in a later release (no projected release date mentioned). I look forward to it, as this is a very useful program.

Are you kidding??? Only CON I found was that it is completely free...The creators of this program must have done a very hard work to make this program a reality and to give away all that hard work for free? Thats unheard of..well atleast until now!!!

Folder Defence has strong mechanizm of protection, it doesn't do any dummy modifications to file system. Also it does not slow my system as some other lockers do

The program has all the caratteritiche a fee but it is completely free.
Protects data with passwords, has options to close, make invisible or both options and more.
It works well and does not leave us on foot.Cons

Summary
The interface is very easy even for inexperienced users and with a few clicks we can close folders of many megabytes
I recommend the program to all users really looking for a folder lock that works and does not contain spyware or Malaware.
