"Best free site I found; easy to navigate & fun to use!"
Version: Floorplanner
Pros
I was able to use this site easily from the first attempt. It is easy to add and move walls and fixtures. It's pretty fun to use and gives a great visual of what you are building with the 3-D option!
Cons
I didn't realize that everytime I changed my flooring to look at a new type of tile the old options were still there. This made the 3-D view load VERY slow. Once I figured that out and deleted the "layers" it was fine.
Summary
We added 1100 sq ft to our home and I was able to use this site to get my plans ready for my contractor. This tool took time off of my project because we both knew what I wanted done when I was ready to build. I actually sent a copy of my plan from this site to my architect to draw from. I would recommend it to anyone...
I do wish that you were able to save more than one project for free but as a buisness owner, I understand why they need to charge at some point! Better one free than NONE free like the other sites I've seen; at least you know what you're buying BEFORE you invest money! -

"Not much!!!"
Version: Floorplanner
Pros
Not much to say as pros
Cons
Very clumsy to try to work with. Never did figure how to save a drawing. Difficult to draw non-standard room dimensions. Low limit on drawings that can be saved on the free version. Overall, the program is too "childish" to be worth purchase.
Summary
Was not impressed with this program! Uninstalled it soon after installation. Mostly junk.

"Very good product, bit of a memory hog"
Version: Floorplanner
Pros
Really simple to lay out floorplans & select furniture
Cons
Gobbled memory like someone who hadn't eaten for a couple of weeks!
Summary
A very useful bit of software that has helped to make a business plan look even more professional. You need a lot of memory available though, particularly if you've got lots of objects in your plan

"Found Glitches"
Version: Floorplanner
Pros
It has a short learning curve.
Cons
After saving my floorplan, my text kept disappearing, doors disappeared, and my room sizes were not accurate. (I'd go back and re-measure walls, only to find that they had changed sizes after saving the file.)
It also did not allow to move objects forward or backwards. So when their pre-set staircase was not the correct shape, I was not able to cover over part of the steps in order to make it the shape we needed.
Not enough basic icons, such as 2-bowl bathroom sinks.
It was the disappearing items that drove me to re-start my search for another software.
