    "Why is this on Download.com??"

    January 6, 2008  |   By jordinyc

    Pros

It is what it is. You should visit adobe.com and update the flash runtime (as well as shockwave) around once a month to be sure you're not missing out on. I can't complain. It does what it's supposed to, which is allow you to play up-to-date flash animations on your web browser.

    Cons

Why is this on Download.com? That's like putting every single Windows Update as a "download" on download.com. It's more like a driver update. All these people who don't know any better (and many of them really should) see the little picy with the player controls and think this is a stand-alone application that opens and plays SWF files saved on a hard drive.

Folks, if you want to use this flash player after you install it, your only option is to drag the SWF file into your web browser. Otherwise see if you can't find something else. I'm not lurking for you.
