"The best option among decompilers for Mac"
Version: Flash Decompiler Trillix 4.1.24.6321
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've tried almost all decompilers on the market and none of them can be even compared to Flash decompiler Trillix. btw, i see no reason to downgrade to older version coz current one is much more useful thanks to new interface and preview option -
"Upgrade Policy"
Version: Flash Decompiler Trillix 4.1.24.6321
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Hadn't used this product in a while and when I launched it prompted me a new version was out, so I upgraded thinking it was a minor update. It was in fact a paid upgrade. Eltima offered me no way to downgrade to my old version. The don't offer downloads of older version. Only way to use the product to purchase and upgrade. Experience with customer service has left me unhappy. Can't ever see myself purchasing anymore products from them. Will look for another product. -

"Cannot recommend this product"
Version: Flash Decompiler Trillix 1.8
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I agree with the other reviewers that this product is MUCH better than the Gordon decompiler. However I still had many problems with it. Mostly it did not convert files properly and Eltima never responded to any complaints about this (contrary to what they state in their support forum).
I can recommend the AVE Imperator, which is a Windows program however. I had it installed on a friend's computer and now with the new intel iMac I will install it here on my Mac.
It's much better and converts files correctly!
Also, I had a very unpleasant experience with their representatives who prefer to moan to their customers instead of helping them.
all in all I cannot recommend this Eltima product (nor the Eltima SWF Player either). -
"Eltima's SWF to FLA Converter vs. Gordon Flash"
Version: Flash Decompiler Trillix 1.6
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I bought both decompilers, and did my own head-to-head comparison. For example, if you went to this site (http://www.orlandoramirez.com/) and decompiled his SWF, in Eltima's SWF to FLA Converter you would get a 19 MB Flash File that plays within Flash using Test Movie very close, if not exactly like the original.
Using Gordon Flash, I got a 1.8 MB Flash File from his SWF, and it did not play very well. It basically choked using the Test Movie feature within Flash. Also, whenever I made a change to a file decompiled in Gordon and saved it, that file would not open again in Flash because it was not recognized as a Flash file anymore. You could, however, keep the original decompiled file and study it to your heart's content - so there's some value there - as long as you make no changes to it.
Also, Gordon had trouble decompiling larger files that SWF to FLA Converter seemed to have no trouble with.
Eltima charges you $82.95 because they tack on a $20 physical CD delivery plus shipping that you can't opt out of, and Gordon charges only $59.00 for a download license.
Bearing in mind that decompilers are iffy little things to begin with, and I feel very lucky to get anything usable at all out of them, for the extra $23.95 spent on SWF to FLA Converter, you're getting a product that's in an entirely different league than Gordon Flash.
It's my impression from looking at the two websites that Gordon Flash is sort of a one-man operation, and Eltima's got a team of engineers on the job, just because of the number of products they offer, and the professional packaging their software comes in. They appear to me to be more like a real software company, and less like a one man garage-based operation.
Maybe Gordon will improve their product with time, but as of this moment, there is no question in my mind that the SWF to FLA Converter is the hands-down winner for the Mac OS X, for my money.

"Nice work, and a hell of allot better than Gordon."
Version: Flash Decompiler Trillix 1.3
Summary

Swf to fla converters never really produce a perfect file to work with, but this one is actually easily usable, and produces something that you can work with.
Try it, convert a swf file, import it into flash and then preview, the result is nearly exactly matched with the original file, something that never works with Gordon.
Of course the fla file isn't perfect, but this is the closest thing that I've seen.
Probably the best converter for Mac.

"Really Bad !"
Version: Flash Decompiler Trillix 1.2
Summary

The .fla published with this application are a real mess ..
You can use it just to recover some simbol.
Nothing else works properly from a recovered file !
For more they give you free updates only for mayor release , and (as far as they told me when I wrote them) they are not thinking about Universal Binaryl support.
