    "Watch out!!!"

    March 30, 2014  |   By Polarbearonline

    Version: FixCleaner 2.0

    Pros

The tech that installed everything was good.

    Cons

They billed me 4 times, with every charge different then the last. I contacted Visa and got back some of the money but not all of the money. I don't even use this product now as it failed to clean out the corruption in my computer. I paid for something and received nothing promised.

"Fixed computers, kept saying subscription expired"

    May 28, 2013  |   By Babykaruk

    Version: FixCleaner 2.0

    Pros

It did as advertised and fixed some problems our computers were having.

    Cons

Constantly starts it self up. A week after my husband paid for a full years subscription, it started saying we needed to renew our subscription. We could re input our registration keys but it only worked for that one scan. Its irritated my husband into taking it off his computer.

    Summary

don't pay for this program. There are plenty out there that do just as good a job without the headaches!

    "Useless--should have known"

    February 20, 2013  |   By bobinsonoma

    Version: FixCleaner 2.0

    Pros

    Can't think of any.

    Cons

Did nothing except take my money. Worse, I installed one of their freebies along with FixCleaner called DriverUpdate. It did more harm than good, it starts when it wants to (I don't know how), it won't uninstall. It's malware.

    Summary

    Save your money and time.

    "False Advertising"

    July 26, 2012  |   By Khanken

    Version: FixCleaner 2.0

    Pros

The product delivers what it promises. It scans one's computer for problems.

    Cons

The product snipes its user with a sudden and large fee for fixing the identified problems, leaving the wretchedly poor unable to play World of Warcraft as a result.

    Summary

This product is a major disappointment and takes advantage of people in a bind, its owners demanding far too much money for a simple service. In the end, I officially and irreversibly boycott it.

"Caused Serious Computer Challenges to Recover"

    July 14, 2012  |   By k3cb

    Version: FixCleaner 2.0

    Pros

None that I can think of. I was surprised by the advertising that implied I could do a free scan of my computer's status. Yes, I did get a free scan. But - if I wanted to repair what Fix Catcher indentifed I had to buy the software. Very misleading advertising. On top of that a software program Driver Update also loaded and the two of them created a disaster.

    Cons

Tech Support attempted to help recover my computer, only to make matters far worse, i.e. I was abandoned by Tech Support when the Blue Screen of Death showed its ugly head. Left to my own devices and with truly little knowledge to work with, I spent the next 15 hours trying to clean up the mess and get my computer back into an operational status.

    Summary

STAY AWAY from this software unless you are a real computer expert. It is a bundle of different tools that perform a number of tasks some or many of which either your computer doesn't need or will cause the problems I experienced. I certainly would NEVER download any of these sorts of "bundled tool kits" ever again. A word to the wise I hope.

    "No free trial"

    June 20, 2012  |   By Karl32

    Version: FixCleaner 2.0

    Pros

I don't know. I thought I was going to have a free trial.

    Cons

"Free Trial" evidently means that you pay for the product, then request a refund within 60 days. Other reviewers have posted issues getting their money back.

    Summary

Shame on CNET for misleading review.

    "Fixed what I wanted"

    May 24, 2012  |   By studentkane

    Version: FixCleaner 2.0

    Pros

+fixed problems with my registry caused by a virus and an anti-malware program messing things up

    Cons

-tried to install toolbar and reset my homepage
-first "one step scan" tried fixing everything, luckily I canceled it before it went through every file and only fixed the registry

    Summary

I was having problems with a system error saying that Task Manager couldn't start because of a missing .dll file. Of course this is problematic, and I found this program, which fixed that problem. However, it also tried to do some other stuff, like optimizing my PC, which thankfully I cancelled as later I saw other have problems with it doing. Everything is great now though, just a bit over ambitious for the program.

"Dishonest approach to acknowledging reported problems."

    April 14, 2012  |   By jmcneal80

    Version: FixCleaner 2.0

    Pros

The app bundles a number of housekeeping tasks together in a nice fast interface. It's very easy to use, even though it forces a reboot after every scan. I rated it a "2" because of this; otherwise it deserves a "1"

    Cons

After installation, I experienced a noticeable video flicker from a number of applications. I believe that the aggressive and wreckless approach of the "PC Optimizer" module is responsible. I installed FixCleaner (paid version) on 3 PC's and after installation all 3 revealed this symptom. None manifested it previously. Upon presenting this to the tier 2 tech support rep, he wrote:
"...Fixcleaner is working fine with all our customer. PC optimization not working that means windows files are corrupted... (sic)." So I'm left to think that 3 separate PC's that never experienced this flickering issue have suddenly and simultaneously experienced an OS level file corruption after installing their software. Please see the chat thread below for details if you're interested. I would not recommend buying this until they get it together and are more honest about acknowledging their problems, which all of us understand can occur. Just admit and fix it instead of lying and covering up...

    Summary

[Jim McNeal] I've installed FixCleaner on three PC's, all running Windows 7, 2 Pro and 1 Home Premium). After the first reboot after installation, I'm getting a screen flicker from a number of applications. This was not occurring on any of the machines before. Is FixCleaner affecting any video settings in any way? I've researched this on the web, and I see I'm not alone with this symptom. I'm considering uninstalling and getting my money back; especially if I have to perform a reinstall of Windows 7 on each machine. Please help with this...
    [Penn]
Welcome to live chat! My name is Penn, I will be assisting you today.
    [Penn]
Please open FixCleaner > Rescue > Select Backup Date>Restore
[Jim McNeal] OK, working on it...
    [Penn] Done?
[Jim McNeal] No, the PC I'm working on does not have it installed. I'm remoting to one that does have it...
    [Penn] ok
[Jim McNeal] Ok, Do you want me to restore the oldest date possible?
    [Jim McNeal] Hello?
    [Penn] Yes
    [Jim McNeal] Ok
    [Jim McNeal] Done
[Jim McNeal] Does the system automatically create a restore point on first installation?
[Penn] Please resatrt your computer and check if the problem is solved now.
    [Jim McNeal] Ok
[Jim McNeal] It's rebooting. Again, does the initial installation process automatically create a restore point?
    [Penn] yes, it creates.
[Jim McNeal] If this works, is there a specific setting I can change so that it does not create this issue again?
[Penn] The problem should not come back.
[Jim McNeal] Ok, I'll observe for awhile. I'm concerned that there are positive features that I've just done away with that now diminish the value of FixCleaner by restoring the system to its earlier state. That is why I asked if there was a specific setting I could exclude...
[Penn] Please hold while I transfer you to a technical expert who will assist you further.
    [Jim McNeal] Thank you
    [Gerald] Hi Jim
[Gerald] Please give me a few moments to review your questions.
    [Jim McNeal] Ok
[Gerald] Are you chatting with any other computer
[Jim McNeal] Not chatting, but remoted into a PC that has FixCleaner installed on it. The one I'm using to chat with you does not have FixCleaner installed...
[Gerald] Screen is flashing due to corrupted windows files.
[Gerald] PC optimization option is not working due to windows problem
[Gerald] Leave unchecked the pc optimization option then scan and repair
[Jim McNeal] OK, I'll try it. Will the repair address the corrupted files?
[Gerald] Need to restore all optimization backup then sfc scan for repair files
    [Gerald] Step 1
[Gerald] Open Fixcleaner and go to Rescure tab
[Gerald] Restore all PC Optimization backup and restore all one by one
    [Gerald] Step 2
[Gerald] Go to Start > All Program > Assessories > Right click on Command Prompt and select run as Adminitrator
[Gerald] And type sfc /scannow and press enter
    [Jim McNeal] OK
[Gerald] Problem will be fixed then.
[Jim McNeal] I'm waiting for the PC to reboot right now from completing the scan process in FixCleaner
    [Gerald] Ok
[Jim McNeal] It's running the scan right now. Here's the tough question: This happened on all 3 PC's on which I installed FixCleaner. If what you're telling me is correct, FixCleaner is performing some action that causes the file corruption. Does this make sense to you?
[Gerald] You can about fixcleaner scan
[Gerald] And make sure that PC Optimization is unchecked when ever you do scan
[Jim McNeal] I understand, but now I'm avoiding a feature that was part of what I purchased. That's why I need to know what's happened here...
[Gerald] You man use this feature manually from Tools tab (like Startup manager, error repair, disk defrag )
[Jim McNeal] What feature are you speaking of? The SFC scan feature?
[Jim McNeal] I was speaking of the PC Optimizer feature in FixCleaner that would be avoided. I assume it's doing some other things that are actually good, right?
    [Gerald] PC Optimization
[Jim McNeal] I see, but how do I avoid the problem that caused the specific issue I reported?
[Jim McNeal] Gerald, the SFC scan utility did not detect any problems. Specific message: "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
[Gerald] Ok, now please check after restart
    [Jim McNeal] ok
[Jim McNeal] Rebooting now... Can you answer the other question about how to configure PC Optimizer so that it does not cause further problems? I'd like to use the utility if it's helping in other areas...
    [Gerald] Just leave uncehck it
[Jim McNeal] Again, now I've paid for a feature that doesn't work. At some point (maybe not today) you guys need to acknowledge this problem and address it properly. It is not a small problem for a utility whose purpose is to optimize the PC if I can't run the Optimizer. Do you believe my statement is fair?
[Gerald] Do you want me to refund
[Jim McNeal] If you are not going to address the issue, yes.
    [Gerald] Its windows file problem
[Gerald] And your purchase is not under 60 days money back policy time so refund is not possible.
[Jim McNeal] Yes, but it did not exist on any of the three PC's until I installed FixCleaner...
[Gerald] You just need to leave unchek the Pc Optimization option
[Jim McNeal] Gerald, I'm going to do this, but I don't respect that you won't at least acknowledge that there is something that FixCleaner is doing (not just to mine) to PC's that causes this flickering issue. To purchase something and then to be told that you can't use a feature for which you paid is not really an acceptable response. I'd appreciate an honest admission that something is not right here, and that somebody in your organization needs to address it in a patch or a new version...
[Jim McNeal] BTW, I see you are Microsoft Certified, so somebody should know how to correct whatever is wrong...
[Jim McNeal] I am actually waiting for a response...
[Gerald] Fixcleaner is working fine with all our customer. PC optimization not working that means windows files are corrupted
[Jim McNeal] Gerald, if you perform a Google search for "flicker" and "FixCleaner" you will see that there are others who have experienced this. There are many threads reporting the problem. I'm OK with this. Sometimes problems surface. My issue is that it is not being acknowledged. I have installed FixCleaner on 3 separate PC's and all three of them had this problem, and none of them had it before. It is too much to be a coincidence that all 3 had corrupt files all of a sudden and all right after installing your product. Something is wrong - it just needs to be addressed...
[Gerald] Need to repair window using windows vista / 7 dvd
[Jim McNeal] On all three PC's? What happened?!
[Gerald] Yes, if facing problem with all pc
[Jim McNeal] I've been working around software for over 20 years. Anybody can see that this isn't just a coincidence. Three PC's working without this ssue have this utility installed and all three experience the same symptom? Different builds of Windows 7 were installed on all 3. How could all of them end up with this symptom, all at the same time AND all 3 only after installing your software? It is not logical, and does not make sense. Now I have to perform a time consuming ugly task on all three PC's. I notice you didn't acknowledge that others are reporting this. At some point there must be some honesty, or disgruntled people like me will let others know that you are not approaching this problem responsibly...
[Gerald] Its windows problem and reapir.
[Jim McNeal] Broken record. I've recorded this chat session and will post it for others to see. I don't think they'll appreciate your responses and how you avoided some very reasonable questions, but that was your decision. I feel that I gave you plenty of opportunity for candor here, but you chose to ignore the subject. This site: http://www.reviewmoz.org/fixcleaner/ (one of several) contains references to the problem I've reported. Somebody at SlimWare needs to wake up.
[Gerald] Please can contact our email support at support@fixcleaner.com for any further assistance.
