Fix-it Utilities Professional

"Dangerous to your files!"
Considering the problems I have had I don't want to say anything positive that would encourage people to buy this software
The utilities that are included don't work well and cause more damage than they fix.
The bottom line is: If you buy this software you are wasting your money and asking for lost files and poor system performance.
I bought this software a month ago and could go on for much more space than allowed here to explain the above statement but I will keep it to just two of the problems I have with this software. The two utilities are the main reason I bought the software.
First: The file undeleter often cannot recover files that were just deleted. When it can recover them it uses old MS-DOS file names that are limited to 8 characters such as "MYBEAU~1.JPG" instead of "My Beautiful Wife in the Red Dress.jpg" In the event that you accidentally delete a folder that has many similarly named files you will have to spend a lot of time opening each one and deciding what name to give it. If the folder happens to be a program folder where you don't know all of the file names, you are just out of luck.
Second: This is the really bad one. The temporary file cleaner. This utility attacks and removes files that it shouldn't. Earlier today I used it and allowed it to clear my web history and temporary internet files. The cleaner also deleted ALL of my bookmarks for Firefox. I can't think of any way those could be considered temporary files! I didn't tell it to shred the files but given the usefulness of the file undeleter, I still haven't been able to find.the file that contains the bookmarks.
I am dreading the discovery of what else is gone that shouldn't be. There was no list given of specific files that were removed but it did give a basic rundown. 5040 files. 1.8 gb. I use Windows Disk Cleanup often so there shouldn't have been that many temp files hiding on my system. I was wanting something a little more thorough than the basic Windows tool. I guess I got it.
