Version: First Page 2006 3
"Great!, but slow"
Pros: THis is a great HTML editor. Primarily what I was looking for. you can create tables, images, scripts, and other extras into your page. After entering one of those, you can edit it the way you want.
This program doesn't need hardly any HTML experience or knowledge. Although would be nice to have, that's why it has quick, basic examples you can look at in a start up page to get to know the basics of HTML.
Recommended for site owners or template creators.
Cons: I'm degrading it one star because when you edit the code manually, the typing goes extremely slow. It took me forever to change one part.
Also some of the time the previewer didn't show what the HTML shouldv'e shown..

You are correct, okay software, but there was many bugs. I would definitly say this program has potential but too many small things that are unproductive like the typing etc. Many ppl i have talked to agree long ago and its nice to see they have not fixed it. One reason of many I will not use them for any more programs. They used to be top and now they have finally produced something only to have minor quirks that are counter productive.

The fix is posted on developers.evrsoft.com , but since the site is down presently (03-16-2006)... here is the actual fix.
Yes that time delay helps, but it is not the true fix to the delay that is occuring.
User needs to place a space between the cursor and the end tag '' and not have overtype on. >
'|' represents the cursor in the following: 'abc| ' >
As long as you keep that cursor one space before the tag, you should be ok.
Typing inside of a tag brackets is slow no matter what.
Hope that helps.

Thank you, I did not realize you can change that. I thought it was just an unchangable bug (well, unchangable without editing the programming code).
I still give it a four, because the HTML displayer did not show what it should've been showing. BUt when I saved it as HTML and opened it did show correctly. So that must also be a bug.

The slow type display is a 'bug' that is well known and the work around is discused on EvrSoft's bug forums.
The work around is you go to the button next to the text area in their vertiacal toolbar. Select the bottom icon in that tool bar and increase the time delay in the time the browser preview and WYSIWYG Design Editor's real time display.
The reason the program is slowing down is the default setting is set to short so the program is too busy updating those views. Adjusting it longer reduce how often First Page 2006does this.
