Firestreamer-RM is a utility that enables existing tape oriented backup software, such as the Microsoft Backup Utility, to directly access a wide range of non-tape storage media. Essentially, Firestreamer is a virtual tape drive that uses files, BD (Blu-ray), DVD, HDD, Iomega REV and other types of media as the underlying storage. Firestreamer supports encryption, compression, media and drive spanning, and easy scheduled backups. Version 2.3 added support for BD (Blu-ray) and HD DVD and file media.
