Version: FireTune for Firefox 1.1.2
"made it slower"
Pros: easy to use...
Cons: TOO easy to use...because it doesn't work. I tried over and over using the instructions in the help file to time different websites. Half the time it was SLOWER. now we're only talking a couple hundredths of a sec here, but still...
One test gave me 1.783 sec before I tuned it, and 2.104 AFTER....
Now, this is a very fast PC on a very fast connection (I'm at work for an IT company, what can I say?) so I don't think FireTune can really do anything I already haven't done....
I can't speak for a slow PC / connection...maybe it'll actually do something, maybe not...

The settings Fire Tune makes to FireFox are optimizations that are proven since it was released.
It sounds like you may have another issue(s), and I might be able to help you clean that up if you're interested!
