  The installer was not able to install the program at the directory designated (error message0. Once the installation directory was changed the program reported that it's installed without trace?

  I am the developer of this software although I did not submit the portable version to download.com.
  
  Please note that the portable version is meant to run with the PortableApps.com menu:
  http://portableapps.com/apps/office/finance_explorer_portable
  
  That is why you are having trouble installing it.
  
  I encourage you to install PA.com first and then install Finance Explorer Portable.
  
  If you prefer not to install the the PA.com version, you can simply install the regular version on your computer and copy the entire install directory onto your USB drive then run mlFinExp.exe from your USB. You can find the regular version here:

  I hope this helps. It is unfortunate that whoever posted my software on download.com did not mention PortableApps.com. Hopefully with the above information you should be able to run it without problems.
