Pros
auto-sync feature keeps track of updates i made with other software. asking me if i want to update to the server. sync browsing changes directories on both local and remote machine.
Cons
i still find bugs or difficulties occasionally. however, the frequent updates are taking care of any small problems one at a time.
Summary
both portable and otherwise Filezilla is on every machine i use for ftp and on my stick.

If I could locate the free version update, hopefully it would be as easy to use as the prior version.

Either CNET's statement "free" is mistaken, or the "free" part is buried so deeply in and among the purchase items that I cannot find the free download.

It is portable. Stored passwords can be viewed and recovered.
Cons
lacks many of the standard features of most of the competition. It sometimes assigns incorrect file permissions to uploaded files "xxx" in many cases. Tech support? Its best you learn how to build your own ftp client.
Summary
Once you start using this product you may be headed down a dead end. I am just glad that I was able to recover my password and go back to a much better product in ftpcoffee cup. Coffee Cup is average, in the overall scheme of things but at least it has functionality.

It is a little bit ago that I need a free FTP client, which needs no installation and runs from an USB stick, because installing apps in our college computers was not allowed. FileZilla was the best one of all available clients - it came even with the same interface on my private Linux PC and the college PC with installed Windows and was very easy to use. Today FileZilla is still installed on my USB sticks :) -
