Summary
The free trial version doesn't do batch file conversion but only converts two files at a time from one format to another, in my case from .wpd to .rtf . The software can be purchased for $29 or is supposedly free if the customer accepts the "TrialPay" offer, i.e. buys a product from an affiliated vendor which I did. However, I was not then provided with the authorization code necessary to activate the software. Instead I got communications like the ones reproduced below indicating that I would get the code sometime in the next day and/or that it might take a couple of days for someone to get back to me. Why can't a software vendor automate the process of providing the product to a customer that has paid for the product? CAVEAT EMPTOR

"pretty darn handy"

lots and lots of tools features and options in one ap. once u get over the learning curve its features are easy to understand and implement. support from the guys that make it is top notch!
Cons
does take a while to get use to how it works but once u grasp the basics you'll find this most handy :) oh ya and, u gotta pay after 30 days free use :/

The interface looks like one of the old DOS file managers, not really like a current style of Windows program. It takes some effort to figure out how to make it do what you want it to. 30-day trial period... but I uninstalled it the same day.

This is my little monster in a box. Smaller than a mouse, but Stronger than the Hulk. This thing is freaking awesome, it cut soooooo much time out of a tidious operation of renaming folders. & That's something that I've had trouble finding in any program. Then when you think you've found it, it simply doesn't work the way they said it would. 5 THUMBS UP!!! This program is good, it's better than great

FileMonkey has lots of useful tools for working with files. Everything seemed to work as advertised.

The user interface was difficult to grasp in my opinion. I know that's subjective, but I found that it was hard to navigate through the program.

"Outstanding Product with Incredible Customer Service..."

Summary
I purchased this product to manage some simple data projects at home. It has turned into the software equivalent of a my swiss army knife --- I use it for everyting from moving log files, to buidling indexes, to creating load files for the DB I use to track attendance and giving at our church. The customer service --- that is writing of scripts and even an extended functionality in response to my needs has really exceeded my expectations. I think this product and the folks that are standing behind it are outstanding. I highly recommend it.

Summary
It merged 20 separate files into one however the resulting file had control characters which made it unusable.
