    "This programme is fantastic!"

    December 21, 2012  |   By KIKI556

    Version: File Renamer Basic 6.3

    Pros

An incredible and simple programme. Has easy boxes to add options. ie; prefix - prefixfilename.jpg or prefix and suffix prefixfilenamesuffix.jpg or it can even add sequential numbers! Also a find/replace feature. It gives a preview before you take the plunge and will also undo any operation.

    Cons

Can't view previews of CDR files, but this is a problem with other applications also.

    Summary

Why didn't I download it sooner! All those times I've manually changed hundreds of file names! This is brilliant if you are designing websites and have hundreds of files to deal with.

"Fast, Easy, Full Features, Small File = 5 Stars"

    October 1, 2012  |   By UnknownAlly

    Version: File Renamer Basic 6.3

    Pros

    fast software
takes up minimal space (small file size)
a load of features that I'd probably never use, but nice to have
    edit extensions
    edit prefix, suffix
    number your files (change increments)

    Cons

    doesn't remember last opened folder
    can only undo/redo in pro

    Summary

Simply the best free file renamer you could get. It lives up to it's generalized name.

This is a great tool for doing exactly as its name states. No learning curve involved, simple and easy to use. The feature it has of being able to preview your results before actually committing is brilliant.

    Cons

    None so far

    Summary

If a batch file renamer is what you are looking for, look no further.

"Great for Audio Book files and folders"

    February 28, 2012  |   By meglestone2

    Version: File Renamer Basic 6.3

    Pros

I use this program exclusively for renaming audio book chapters and file lists in mp3 format. It works as advertised for lists of files in numerical order; with or without file names, prefix, suffix or unique parameters. It also works fine renaming batches of folders.

    Cons

Have not found any to date and I have been using this program since it first became available on C-Net.

    Summary

I am currently using Windows 7-64bit and have had no problems. Works on my desktop and laptop systems equally well. Used to run it on Windows XP-32 with great results. The basic [Free] version is fine for most folks. The pro [upgrade] costs very little.

"It dose a good job renaming your files"

    January 24, 2012  |

    Version: File Renamer Basic 6.3

    Pros

It dose a good job renaming your files

    Cons

One problem I found with it is that if you have it to rename your files and to have it put them in another folder you suggest it also renames your files in your source folder and you can't revert them back. If you are going to use this program I suggest making copies of all your files before renaming them.

    Summary

    It isn't worth it
