    Version: File Dropper

    Pros

    None whatsoever

    Cons

Claims to host 5 gigs.Tried three browsers three times. Spend an hour uploading anything bigger than a jpeg and it conveniently stalls or gives an error after waiting for the link instead of creating one. Utter horsesh*t at all levels. Made of dildos, crap, fail and AIDS. Do not waste your time with this utter *****.

"A complete waste of a site"

    May 4, 2013  |   By Carlosj62

    Version: File Dropper

    Pros

You can do small files, but then you can just email those, can't you?

    Cons

    Doesn't work for large files.

    Summary

I tried a 150K jpg file and it worked fine. I checked the link and there it was. Then I tried a 3GB video file that took over an hour to upload. The site returned no hyperlink, no nothing - Just a message that said it was done.

    What a waste of time.

"Service doesn't work, large file is never uploaded"

    August 12, 2012  |   By daviale01

    Version: File Dropper

    Pros

Registered for $ .99 to get pro account and because there is NO free registration to at least TRY the service, which means if it doesn't work, simply cancel paypal subscription!

    Cons

Large files never uploaded as described in the service agreement.

    Summary

I tried to upload my 200 MB file, and it took me about one hour to upload, then the green measure line reached to 100% and I spent another five hours waiting to get the link that I have never received !! I read the reviews here and got it, I will never get the link.

    "Complete Scam!"

    February 20, 2012  |   By savagekitty

    Version: File Dropper

    Pros

7 day free trial - so you can hopefully get out of it before getting ripped off

    Cons

DOES NOT WORK - NO EASY CANCELLATION - NO WAY TO CONTACT CS - INTERFACE JUST FOR SHOW

    Summary

I signed up for the 7 day free trial and attempted 4 times to upload a 2.2GB file. The loading bar reached 100% in about 3 minutes - WAY too fast for such a large file, and every time it finished, there was no link, and my storage showed zero used. I also tried testing an upload of a really small file, 14MB, and the loading bar took EXACTLY the same amount of time to reach 100% (no link, no storage used). This leads me to believe that the interface is a total facade... My guess is that all files regardless of size will "load" just as fast, and have no resulting actual upload, and the cheap price of this service probably means this guy makes a lot from the complacent crowd who doesn't think it's worth fighting for their $1-$5 back.

The simple interface also lacks any direct contact info (just a contact form, which no one so far has answered for 4 days - not even an automatically generated "we've received your request" email), or any option to cancel your account. I had to contact Paypal in order to stop payments to Filedropper. In case anyone else is having issues or would like to make a complaint through Paypal or elsewhere, the merchant's email is: jitenagrawal at yahoo dot com

    Updated on Feb 20, 2012

    UPDATE: PLEASE READ!

Filedropper is a full-on P2P site scam. Once you try to contact them through their online form, they will send you an email response that contains malware that will run in the background and share ALL of your files. DO NOT click on any links or download ANYTHING from these emails. DO NOT share any links generated by this site. They will infect your computer and make all your files public.

The merchant of Filedropper has set up this exact same scam in the past: "File Savr" and "Wikiupload" worked exactly the same way and enticed people with very attractive prices for cloud storage services. The owner, "Jay Kumar" has been doing this since 2005 or longer, and continues to operate Filedropper.

    September 14, 2011  |   By sabowman

    Version: File Dropper

    Pros

Controllable Storage for 99 cents per month

    Cons

Make sure the file loaded correctly

    Summary

Using for 1 year + to allow people to download sermons and church services. Works great, but I have had issues where it appeared the file uploaded correctly, but it did not. Cheap way to get files to everyone!

    "What a scam!"

    July 30, 2011  |   By oninternetsince1999

    Version: File Dropper

    Pros

Very simple clean interface. Flat rate of 99 cents per month subscription - either via Paypal or Credit Card.

    Cons

    Doesn't work.

    Summary

I tried to load a 380MB video file and after 60% progress during upload, it froze and wouldn't upload further no matter how long I waited. I reloaded website, tried again and got an error message after 2% upload. I tried to click on both "My Files" and "My Account" link at bottm of webpage but "My Files" leads to a page that won't load at all, while "My Account" does not give a subscription cancelation option! (strong evidence of a scam) You get an receipt via email though, which says that the only way to cancel subscription is directly through paypal. I'm so disgusted with this. I tried MegaUpload and it worked fortunately. although upload of 380MB took a little over 2 hours. bleh

    Updated on Jul 30, 2011

By the way, I paid the 99 cents via Paypal thinking it was a terrific deal.

"An ugly way of tricking the public."

    July 2, 2011  |   By sgsawant

    Version: File Dropper

    Pros

    -none
    -none

    Cons

The entire thing is a con.

    Summary

I tried to upload a file of about 1 GB for 2 nights in a row. Every morning I woke up - I found myself staring at the page filedropper.com. I wondered what's up with the link.

Then on the third day, I tried to upload the file while doing some other work. After reaching near 100% I stared at the page as to be able to copy the link immediately, as soon as it is posted. But I found no such link. It is now my guess that filedropper.com will give you a link only if the file size is short. For a really large file, you are cheated if you are not a paid user.

So much for the hypocrisy "we believe that online storage should be free".... utter cheats....
