I'm still so pis*** at getting a virus malware with the cnet download that I don't know.
Cons
Claro Search, a virus browser hijacker, downloaded and installed without permission, piggybacked on the Active X. Claro is insanely difficult to get rid of and hijacks your new tabs, search engines, start page, pretty much everything. And when you try to change the stuff back, Claro won't let you. It took me hours to root Claro out of all the areas it was hiding in.
Summary
I've been downloading from cnet for the better part of a decade but watch out now because you may get more than you bargain for on a cnet download.
There is NO justification for cnet to allow the inclusion of malicious browser hijackers that self install. -
