    "Snow Leopard Problems Too..."

    November 5, 2010  |   By Running_Bear

    Version: File Buddy 9.0.2

    Pros

Convenient, Reliable, Time Saving - Performs Essential Daily Tasks

    Cons

None - Except that it has lost functionality with the recent Snow Leopard security upgrade (can not use Administrator Access Mode and doesn't retain my serial number).

    Summary

I have relied on File Buddy since it's inception for the daily tasks of manipulating files - changing type & creator, renaming, searching, etc, etc. It is always open on my Mac and is peerless for these important tasks. I couldn't begin to say how many thousands of broken files it has quickly and conveniently fixed for me over the years, saving me countless hours of work. PLEASE don't say that development has stopped. What would I do without it?

"A recent upgrade of Snow Leopard makes this utility ???"

    September 27, 2010  |   By johnlove

    Version: File Buddy 9.0.2

    Pros

Up until the latest security updates for Snow Leopard, File Buddy has been totally reliable.

    Cons

With the latest security updates for Snow Leopard, I can't assign File Buddy as a Start Up item. Once booted I can start up File Buddy and it works. This may be related to the fact that FB semi-frequently asks for my registration number.

    Summary

This utility is still useful; however, it is painfully obvious that it is no longer being supported, i.e., upgraded with changes in Apple System software.
