"BEWARE of Developer's Website Deluxe Edition"

    August 2, 2011  |   By LunoDiablo

Version: Fighter Ace 10th Anniversary Edition 4

    Pros

Still downloading this CNET version. Hope it is as reliable as all CNET downloads are and as good to play as seen on YouTube.

    Cons

Do NOT bother with the 4.4GB Deluxe Edition on software developers website.

    Summary

I went to Ketsujin Studios website to see images/videos of game play. It states their ONLINE gaming is shut down but they offer a FREE 4.4GB Deluxe Edition. It took two days to download the "Torrent" file which does NOTHING. Save your time and stick with CNET folks.

    Updated on Aug 5, 2011

WOW! More than a DEMO. The CNET version has me hooked. I recommend you start there. I am running XP pro, 256RAM, Pentium IV and the graphics and gameplay are quite enticing. Add in the empirical and historical data of each plane and you can learn a few things about each's flying and armament limitations. Always wanted to barrel roll a plane. Been there. Done that. Now I want to keep doing it. The fact that you can man any of the B-17 Flying Fortress gun turrets is awesome. And fly the plane at the exact same time is incredible.

As for the Website Developer's ISO Torrent file, I may have to bite off my own fuselage. Google how to open and ISO and now its on.

CON: There isn't alot of vegetation in the DEMO, so if you want to see trees go lay in a park. Otherwise gear up for some great fun.

    "Many years of fun"

    April 22, 2010  |   By rea49

Version: Fighter Ace 10th Anniversary Edition 4

    Pros

To me the best part is the wide assortment of aircraft. Over the years, there have been numerous "room", maps, etc to keep things interesting and to appeal to people's individual flying preferences.

    Cons

I think the unreal damage modeling was the thing I disliked the most. For instance, a fighter plane could sustain much more damage that a bomber.

    Summary

There were some oddities abouit the game that must have been related to my computer. For instance, everyone seemd to out-run, out-manoever my aircraft. I saw people making moves that I could not duplicate and to be honest, were suspect. It seems my planes only could stand a handful of hits to be destroyed, whereas I had to put 20 times more into an enemy. I have always felt certain pilots used hacks or cheats, as some took tremendous damage without any apparent adverse affects. There were some squads who liked to be the trash-talkers, guess it maked them feel like real men. Other pilots just rammed all th time, and it began to be called "Rammer Ace". Overall, i have played FA for many years, and had a lot of fun. But, you can only shoot down so many planes, blow up so many buildings. I left the game after becoming burned out on it. I now see the game will end in August of 2010, too bad As time went on, the number of pilots diminished, but there was still the core group of pilots. Since the game is ending, there is no use anymore to download it and start flying it.. I'll miss the friends I made in there over the 10 years I was involved with the game.

"A grate get in and shoot or be shot game"

    March 25, 2010  |   By bf190g

Version: Fighter Ace 10th Anniversary Edition 4

    Pros

This game is sweet for the novice to the addvanced intermeadiate. I love the way the options are set up. You can fly threww all the settings or realy take full control of the game. the grafics are fairly sweet but don't overload the comp.

    Cons

The sound of the airplanes for some reason on my demo seem to rather get louder rather than cange as you addvance the throttel the other issue I have is the game took some real maniulation to get my rudder peddles to work and the toebrakes don't

    Summary

I have played many other combat sims and herd grate reviews about them yet when perchsed I couldn't stand them However this one is geared for some one like my self threr is a lot to be offered ,and yet there is no B.S. to weed threw just to get into the pilots seat. The dounload time is deasent and the real effects are spot on. The defalts are totaly sweet to get in and learn the basics and calibrate your self for the missions ahead. I am deffenatly looking forward to takeing the next step of getting the hole game and in the week and a half I have had the Free Demo ,might I add that there were no extra adds or othere crap attached, I look foward to a nice relaxing flack and A.A. fire dogeing torpedo run. One other thing I have to mennsion is the fact that this game is not limmited to just one theater it covers all aspects of WWII In a few short words I tip my hat to the team and say Realy nice job thank you for all that you have done . I say Its about time that some one had listened to what we raly want and this game can please all! Christopher Harlow

    "Disappointing Game"

    April 7, 2009  |   By Eagle72

Version: Fighter Ace 10th Anniversary Edition 4

    Pros

I can't say that this game as any pros to it, but that is just my opinion

    Cons

I had played this game for a while and I can say that some employees and volunteers are one sided to particular squadrons or people in the game. There is a lot of thrash talking that goes on between squads which damper the enjoyment of the game.

    Summary

This game has not changed at all from in the 10 years that has been out. I believe there is other games out there that will offer you more for your money. I would not recommend the game to anyone because of the reasons that I have explained above.

    Updated on Apr 29, 2009

I do not recommend any games .... I think you should try that out for your self and see which game you might like better.
