A cross between a nonograms puzzle and the classic board game Battleship, Fathom It has you race the clock to uncover an enemy fleet through logical deduction. Numeric clues line the bottom and right sides of a 10x10 grid. Each clue represents the number of squares in that row or column occupied by an enemy ship. By correlating horizontal and vertical clues, you deduce which ships occupy which squares. Making wrong guesses and getting help from the program s cheat function add time to your total, so you ll need to be methodical. The demo comes with tens of different game boards and four levels of difficulty, offering plenty of replay value. Players with vision problems will appreciate the ability to enlarge the game board. But the sound and graphics are very crude, and the lack of eye and ear candy probably will make Fathom It mostly appealing to hard-core logic-puzzle fans.Publisher's description
From Mountain Vista Software :Fathom It is a MS Windows version of the Battleships column in Games Magazine. Unlike the pencil-and-paper game of battleship, Fathom It boards are solved using logical deduction only.
