"Awesome and by far the BEST"

    June 24, 2014  |   By Forceofwon1

    Version: FastStone Image Viewer 5.1

    Pros

I have been using this for like 5 years now. Nothing else even comes close, and I have tried them all. I take a lot of scenery pictures as I mountain bike all the time. This app is wonderful in its ability to enhance or edit your photos. All the functions are right there on the left side, you don't have to go looking. Resize, crop, almost everything you can think of right there. And if you have a bunch of photos you need to resize, like to post to Facebook like I do, you can use the batch Convert option. This can not only resize, but do just about any other option to all your pictures at once

    Cons

I have never had any crashes or any problems with this in all the years I've been using it

    Summary

This is IT. The best picture editing software and its FREE on top of that. Been using for a long time now and will never use anything else. Good for even the less technical savvy people to use. HIGHLY recommend

    "most intuitive desktop image viewer"

    June 14, 2014  |   By wayabrian

    Version: FastStone Image Viewer 5.1

    Pros

like the feature to view the original size when pressed.

    Cons

On touch screen, if finger pressed on the image, we cannot see the original size. "123 Image Viewer" can be a replacement on Windows 8.x. For Windows 7 or earlier OS I will certainly use this one.

    Summary

    great work. a must have.

    "A Nice Surprise!"

    June 9, 2014  |   By Imogen7Ryan

    Version: FastStone Image Viewer 5.1

    Pros

I am incredibly impressed with FastStone. Not only does it give you a Tree Line access to all of your photo folders (and others) it gives you a collection of 4 small pics within each folder as a starting point to finding which folder you need. Then when opened, it displays all photo's at lightning speed!

The full screen edit feature is fantastic; hovering over the borders brings up an array of editing features: And the editing features it has, you get the lot. There are several border effects; 3 ways to resize using pixels/%'s/Automatic plus the usual you would need and then some.

The best feature I've not seen elsewhere is the 'Hold Down' button where you can view the original against the modifications you make every step of the way: Plus Undo/Redo at every stage as well.

    Cons

None so far: Obviously it's not Gimp or Photoshop, but I wouldn't have a clue how to use either anyway.

    Summary

I am utterly impressed with Fast Stone in so many ways. The PDF manual is a nice addition, but if you are familiar with online editors like myself or used similar programs before, it is so easy to find your way around.

I wasn't expecting much if I am honest. But to my sheer delight and surprise, FastStone is a Godsend: Not only does it allow you to view everything on your hard drive, you can edit with its array of easy to use tools.

The fact that this program is free just blows me. I have tried other paid for programs, but I can assure you that this tops the lot. Covienient, useful and near enough perfect for all your viewing and editing needs.

    "excellent image viewer"

    May 21, 2014  |   By Kopim

    Version: FastStone Image Viewer 5.1

    Pros

I need a good quality viewer of jpg files: it does so
I need full screen capability without info: it has
I absolutely need that it adopts the intelligent sorting of Windows (not all photoviewers do so, messing up a slideshow!): it sorts as Windows
I need the use of a presenter: it works with a presenter
    All my wishes are fullfilled.

    Cons

No cons, except maybe that there are numerous features, which I will not use.

    "wonderful."

    April 10, 2014  |   By earthdeth

    Version: FastStone Image Viewer 5.1

    Pros

I like to make wallpapers that fill the screen. Only program that was easy to keep aspect ratio was Roxio Photosuite 8. It won't work beyond XP. This is even better. I like the fullscreen appearance of this. For free it is perfect.

    Cons

Haven't found a single downside at all.

    Summary

for fixing pictures it's the 2nd besy. 1st best can't be used, so this one wins.

"Allows modification of EXIF field "Date Picture Taken""

    April 4, 2014  |   By BLShaeffer

    Version: FastStone Image Viewer 5.1

    Pros

    Views EXIF data easily
Allows modification of EXIF data field "Date Picture Taken"
    Resizes images
    Usual crop, lighting fixes

    Cons

    None found yet

    Summary

I needed something beside Adobe Photoshop Elements that could change the date/time stamps ("date picture taken") in my .JPG files. Though this will not add one, it will change an existing one to whatever you want. It is easy enough to add a "date picture taken" field to a JPG using Windows Explorer but the time always gets set to current time. With FastStone, you can set the time to whatever you want or use +/- to change it by a certain amount of time. I haven't yet explored the other features but it looks very promising.

"As Simple or sophisticated as you would like."

    March 26, 2014  |   By scace369

    Version: FastStone Image Viewer 5.1

    Pros

I've been using the FastStone Image viewer since it first appeared through CNET. The downloadable tutorial should answer any questions you might have. Their support team is also very user friendly should you have a really big concern you can't find an answer for.

    Cons

I can't think of anything negative to say.

    Summary

Of all the shareware I have used, I didn't mind sending a $10 donation even though none was demanded. Wish Microsoft had similar sentiments.
