For a free program, this multipurpose image tool strikes us as a good find. Although the main window looks too cluttered at first glance, it's intuitive enough after you get your bearings. FastStone Image Viewer for Windows boasts a nice design already, but you can customize it to your liking with several skins. Clicking a thumbnail puts a larger view of the shot in the lower-left pane, and you zoom in simply by dragging the mouse around. Though its image-editing tools can't compete with those offered by a full-featured suite, there's still enough here to make a decent amount of tweaks to your shots. You can resize, crop, remove red-eye, and adjust color, brightness, and contrast. You'll also find a few simple effects and filters, including Lens, Waves, and Morphs. FastStone Image Viewer for Windows can batch-convert files into a number of popular image formats including GIF, BMP, PSD, and PNG, and the slide-show creator allows you to apply transitions, specify the interval between images, and add your own MP3s as a soundtrack. "Absolutely Amazing Image Editor -- Must Try!!!"
Pros: Whoa... can this really be free? Here's an image editor/viewer that will exceed your expectations by 1000%! Even if you already have an arsonal of digital imaging apps DO NOT pass this by. Free software is one thing, but free software that's THIS good is unheard of. Get it now!

Cons: Little to complain about. Syntax for coverter is unclear, but explained in renamer. Very minor.

Pros: All I can say about it is: It's got the best tools and it's so easy to use them. I would have paid up to 50 dollars for a program like this, and I don't usually get art programs. I'd recommend this to anyone.
Cons: There is nothing bad about it.

"Neat, fulfills your basic viewing needs, and totally free!"
Pros: Cleverly hides all the hefty features on the sides of the viewer.
Cons: -- 1. Doesn't support archive formats (ie. zip)
-- 2. No zoom lock, or no keyboard shortcut to zoom lock.
-- 3. Doesn't support Windows XP theming.
-- Not the best choice for mangascan readers/collectors. ;)

"I'm truly amazed and never expected such quality for free!!"
Pros: I usually use Jasc's PaintShop Pro but got lazy last night and didn't want to hunt my CD to reload Jasc after a recent hard drive format. So I did a quick Cnet search and found FastStone. I'm extrememly impressed!! Within 20 minutes I had the program loaded, cropped and resized several photos, and had them uploaded onto my forum. It would have taken that long for me to find my CD!! I'll still use PaintShop for the fancy stuff but FastStone is definately going to be used for a fast crop and reduction due to it's "Quick Resize" feature. The window folder view is fantastic and makes everything so easy that I'll probably use it rather than windows explorer to find thumbnails, especially since they're larger. I can't believe this program is free! I'm just truly amazed, even after having used PaintShop for about five years now. I've searched for freebies before, but this one is wonderful and totally unexpected. Get it while it's free. You'll not be disappointed.
