For a free program, this multipurpose image tool strikes us as a good find. Although the main window looks too cluttered at first glance, it's intuitive enough after you get your bearings. FastStone Image Viewer for Windows boasts a nice design already, but you can customize it to your liking with several skins. Clicking a thumbnail puts a larger view of the shot in the lower-left pane, and you zoom in simply by dragging the mouse around. Though its image-editing tools can't compete with those offered by a full-featured suite, there's still enough here to make a decent amount of tweaks to your shots. You can resize, crop, remove red-eye, and adjust color, brightness, and contrast. You'll also find a few simple effects and filters, including Lens, Waves, and Morphs. FastStone Image Viewer for Windows can batch-convert files into a number of popular image formats including GIF, BMP, PSD, and PNG, and the slide-show creator allows you to apply transitions, specify the interval between images, and add your own MP3s as a soundtrack. It also provides quick access to EXIF information and a thumbnail browser via hidden toolbars that emerge when you touch the edge of your screen with the mouse. FastStone Image Viewer also offers a batch-image converter and resizer, a magnifier, and a built-in slide show with more than 60 transitional effects, as well as lossless JPEG transitions, drop-shadow effects, image frames, scanner support, and a histogram. It supports all major graphics formats including BMP, JPEG, JPEG 2000, GIF, PNG, PCX, PSD (Photoshop format), TIFF, WMF, ICO, and TGA.
Version 2.0 adds Paper ratio crop to Crop board, adds Side by side image comparison, and enhances Slideshow with 150+ transitional effects.

Pros: Yet another gem from Faststone. Not only does it carry out the normal funtions of an image viewer, but now it plays MP3's to boot!
Slick and doesn't demand to be the fault image viewer like so many others - but this program deserves to be your default. Wonderful to use plus it's FREE
Cons: None - it deserves the praise.

Pros: I downloaded this viewer, as I do with all software, based on the reviews. I have to say, this is worth every bit of praise that it has received. It's simply great! I use this as my default image viewer.

"Perfect, just waiting for multilanguage support"
Pros: I have compared a lot of image browsers for my work as a teacher and found this to be the best by far. Especially because it will not overtake your windows functionality (Adobe) or flood your PC with workfiles (Google's Picasa). Also it rotates Jpeg files without losing quality (which happens with Windows) and you can preview Photoshop files in a decent way.
Cons: When are they going to come with a multi language version? A lot of my Dutch friends (and pupils) could use it, but they don't because it's just to difficult for them to understand.

Pros: Once every five corn seasons you find a program that stands out of everyday things. Such is faststone image viewer. Simply impressive and generous. Dont even think about it- just download one now!
Cons: what's not to like here? Its one of few products that makes the kind of promises that wont get you pregnant.
