From FastStone Soft :FastStone Capture is a powerful, lightweight, yet full-featured screen capture tool that allows you to easily capture and annotate anything on the screen including windows, objects, menus, full screen, rectangular/freehand regions and even scrolling windows/Web pages. You can choose to send captures to editor, file, clipboard, printer, email, Word/PowerPoint document or upload them to your website. Editing tools include annotating (texts, arrowed lines, highlights), resizing, cropping, sharpening, watermarking, applying edge effects and many more. It also allows you to record screen activities and sound into highly compressed video files. Other features include global hotkeys, automatic filename generation, support for external editors, a color picker, a screen magnifier and a screen ruler. FastStone Capture saves files in BMP, GIF, JPEG, PCX, PNG, TGA, TIFF and PDF formats.
Versin 6.3 records screen activities including onscreen changes, speech from microphone, mouse movements and clicks into highly compressed video files (Windows Media Video format).

"Very easy to use program with a possible BUT..."
Pros: Excellent easy to use interface that takes the pain out of screen capture. Purchased the program and have used it many times with little effort on my part!
Cons: Recently downloaded Advanced System Protector. Informs me that Faststone has adware.betterinternet.gr within prog classified as a medium risk. ASP removes Faststone on clean command. WinPatrol info displays adware.cdt when asked about betterinternet.
Summary: Really like the Faststone program but concerned about the Advanced System Protector alert. After cleaning I have downloaded Faststone again with the same result. Having said that my other spyware progs do not have a issue with faststone.

Pros: Very easy to use. Has many features (even free edition) that a lot don't.
Cons: I haven't found anything yet.

Pros: Many capture profiles including scrolling and screen recording. Low memory footprint when running in tray. Great editing/annotation features. Auto launch external editor or send caps to email, clipboard, file, ms office. Includes lifetime upgrades.
Cons: Only con is that you now have to pay for it. Until late 2008 this was a freeware proggy however the developer has added new features and improvements. If you don't want to pay, consider freeware proggies such as "Gadwin" and "Screen Captor".
