FastStone Capture is a flexible and intuitive screen capture software. It allows you to capture anything on the screen including windows, objects, full screen, rectangle regions, freehand-selected regions, and scrolling windows/Web pages. It has innovative features such as a floating Capture Panel, hotkeys, resizing, cropping, text annotation, printing, and e-mailing. The built-in Screen Magnifier is very fun to use.

Version 4.6 added "Canvas Size", "Expand Canvas Size", "Sepia", "Negative" under Edit menu Now it is possible to specify the selection size under Edit menu; Added "Send File Dropped on Capture Panel to" option in the Settings; Added PDF support in the Save As dialog.

Version: FastStone Capture 4.6

"Does It's Job Perfectly."

Pros: Admittedly I havn't tested a lot of screen shot utilities. I don't need to capture screen images very often, but when I do, this program does an excellent job. I've never felt any need to look beyond this one.

It has a nice little floating toolbar that lets you capture the image just about any way you need to - full screen, active window, rectangular or freehand region, object etc. The built in image editor is quite handy to quickly crop or resize the image, block out certain portions & add text or markings or whatever else one may need to do for a simple screenshot without needing to open a full blown image editor.

FastStone Image Viewer is excellent as well.

Cons: None Found.
