    "No support for hi-end hardware"

    August 16, 2011  |   By senfre

    Version: FastPictureViewer Pro (64-bit) 1.5.210

    Pros

Fast (but not faster than FastStone Image Viewer which is free)

    Cons

To expensive for what you get.
    Very poor features, poor support.
No support for 10-bit color depth and will not in the future.

    Summary

It was risky to buy my trial didn't work. But I have to state that I just waste almost 40 bugs on nothing. I would strongly recommend FastStone Image Viewer where you self can decide if you like to contribute or not. I bought FPF pro because they made it look like it support hi-end hardware but it didn't. I'm a professional photographer.

"Fills the gap in image viewing in Windows Explorer"

    February 20, 2011  |   By Anysia

    Version: FastPictureViewer Pro (64-bit) 1.4.177

    Pros

Quick to install, easy set up, clean interface, configurable to select external editing programs

    Cons

    Lack of support

    Summary

I had tried several RAW thumbnail viewers, on different computers, using different RAW formats, and selected FastPictureViewer. Overall I would say it's an excellent program, but it loses 'brownie points' due to the highhanded methods the of moderator of the help forums. He doesn't seem to like anything negative about his software, and will disapprove of your posting as being 'off topic'. I thought this variety of childishness went out with highschool, but alas, it is alive and well in the software developers world.

It imports RAW/CR2 files flawlessly into Photoshop, but with other RAW capable image editors, not so much.

It was horrendously slow to load into Corel X3, but it does load. Loading Camera Raw from the Corel organiser is much faster.

When importing a CR2 file taken with either of my Canon 40D, 60D or
550D into TwistedBrush Pro Studio from the FastPictureViewer, the
image is imported 2/3s size and mirror imaged as if flipped on the
horizontal. But if I import it from 'right click' in Windows Explorer
and 'Open With" and select TwistedBrush, it imports just fine.

When I reported these quirks, said subject/topic was declared off topic and posting deleted. So, before you take your chances, make sure you test it thoroughly on every image editing program other than Adobe.
