FastMaint is excellent for one of our small facilities. We are only using the basics but it appears to have many more capabilities.
I do not have any real negative comments.
I downloaded the free demo to trial but then got tied up before I could do much with it. SMGlobal was very willing to extend the demo so I could fully evaluate the software. We ended up purchasing the software and we've been very pleased with it.
The system is designed from a true maintenance standpoint, not a programmers standpoint or a corporate standpoint, it does what maintenance professionals need.
Easy to see what parts are in stock for a piece of equipment, also ties necessary parts to taske.
Doesn't require add on modules.
Has an equipment hierarchy that makes it simple to drill down and find what you are looking for.
Very well organized and user friendly - Fast Maint does what is necessary without complication.
Easy to get up and running.
None so far.
We performed a detailed review of several CMMS systems, including working with several demo programs, before selecting FastMaint. Fast maint was the best at meeting our requirements and was easily the simplest to use.
It is far better than some of the very large, very expensive CMMS systems I have worked with in the past.
We have used this for 5 years for our company management of facilities servicing, equipment maintenance scheduling, calibration tracking, and other routine scheduling. We have found support to be very responsive, helpful, and quick to work out any issues with the program use. The Professional 5-user license version is ideally suited to our R&D development environment. It has been readily adapted to a variety of functional applications and groups.
Initially, there was not a good manual, so we helped to create one for the developer, and it has been advantageously incorporated. We can't think of any major issues otherwise.
We highly recommend this application over all we have seen in the marketplace. It is flexible in approach so it may be easily adapted for a number of uses. The developers are open to customizing for the customer as needed. If you need a great facilities, calibration, or equipment maintenance management application, get this one!
I pleased with how easy this software has been to use and to train my techs to use. I have had this software for three years and I have been pleased with it since the day it was purchased. We still aren't utilizing all the reports, but we are on our way to. We currently have over 400 tasks between 4 techs in the software and over 1500 parts in the inventory. This has made the ease of tracking and accountabilty for every tech flawless. The software helped reduce downtime in multiple ways. Now all PM tasks are being complete at the exact time they need to be done so there are less breakdowns, less time is wasted by the techs because it plans their day and they don't have to make planning decisions, and it has made parts an automatic inventory so I always have the correct parts on hand. This program has also helped with communication between all three shifts. All the techs can look at what the other techs have completed for the day and they know if there is anything that they need to watch.
The only bad thing I have found is that you need to make sure that there are different templates for an "Any Other Maintenance Task" and a "scheduled Other Maintenance Task". It will skew the reports if you use the "Any Other Maintenance" for downtime and for planned extra tasks.
As we are still in the process of setting up the Fast Maintenance Professional Program here at Liberty Iron& Metal Southwest,we find it easy to use. Brings a new and exciting opportunity to restructure, train, and motivate the entire Facility!!!
The only con so far that I have felt as the Administrator of FastMaint Pro, is the fact of the time to setup the program so that it will fit our facility. Designing it for our Facility has brought me a lot of trial and error to get it online.
The Bottom line is this: "THIS IS A GREAT STEP FOR LIBERTY IRON & METAL SOUTHWEST, IN PHOENIX, AZ , FOR THE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF A MORE PRODUCTIVE AND PROFITABLE SHREDDER/MILL, FERROUS LINE, AND NON-FERROUS LINE FACILITY! PRAISE JESUS!!!
Our users really like this product - it has great features and functionality. They have found it to do exactly what is needed. Additionally, I am very impressed by the customer service that was provided to me by the staff at FastMaintenance.
None that I am aware of.
Fast Maintenance is easy to get up and running. We have 15 licenses for the shared database and all the users have found it to be an easy product to work with. We especially liked working with the people at FastMaintenance to determine what the best licensing structure to meet our needs. Additionally, the site provides a lot of good information about a variety of training materials that will be very relevant to users of this product. All in all we are very satisfied with this product.
