"Crappy like ALL Windows Mobile Apps"

    August 30, 2010  |   By illusion408

Version: Facebook for Windows Mobile 6 1.0

    Pros

I can upload video. My wife, who uses the iPhone Facebook app frequently, can't upload videos to Facebook. That's the ONLY time I use the Windows Mobile Facebook app.

    Cons

Can't make comments, reply to posts, or do many of the other things Facebook is KNOWN for.

    Summary

Like MANY of Windows Mobile applications, it is slow (have to refresh comments) and crashes like many of Windows' products. I love my HTC Tilt 2, but HATE the Windows Mobile platform. My wife can use her iPhone for EVERYTHING, from finding restaurants through the Yelp app, movies with Flixter, etc.

It's such a hassle using the BROWSER for everything on a Windows Mobile phone. The facebook app sucks, so I have to use the mobile.facebook.com to really get anything done. If my company used anything other than Windows Mobile, I would've left a LONG time ago.

"Visually Great but no "like" or "comment""

    June 5, 2010  |   By AdrianJacobs

Version: Facebook for Windows Mobile 6 1.0

    Pros

Visually wonderful and easy to navigate. Really Really Like the phonebook option - all of my friends mobile phone numbers presented in an address book style is really cool

    Cons

No "like" or "comment" option is completely ridiculous

    Summary

Don't know the point of Facebook if you can't comment or like stuff. Also, I could just be missing it, but how do I "friend" people

    "needs improvement"

    January 31, 2010  |   By thejamiemoore

Version: Facebook for Windows Mobile 6 1.0

    Pros

it's work well visually. Adding photo's and video instantly is cool.

    Cons

the updating is poor, at best. I would rather use the mobile web interface than this app. You have to select refresh and even then it is slow and misses statuses, etc. There is no option for an auto update.

    "Severly lacks needed features"

    January 16, 2010  |

Version: Facebook for Windows Mobile 6 1.0

    Pros

Fast and doesn't drain the battery on your phone much.

    Cons

Video upload doesn't actually upload on my HTC Imagio at all, comments on Status Updates are the lifeblood of FB and are nonexistent, shows about 1/4 of friend's Updates if that, can't delete Updates at all, Profile popup doesn't work right...

    Summary

I'm not sure why people endorse this amateur piece of crap. I go to Status Updates, and not even one of 4 are actually available after refresh (I've compared to the web interface). Comments on Status Updates are an absolutely ESSENTIAL function. Someone posts about meeting up somewhere, and there are 20 comments arranging time and place, and you can't see any of them. Unless you go to the Friends menu, and go to the original poster's profile and then navigate to their Wall. There you only find the very LAST comment.

I've had no problem uploading photos, which is a plus. But video was a complete no-go. Sure it connects, it pretends to upload the video, then...nothing. Since there's no Video tab, you don't have any way to check if it actually uploaded. Which it didn't. You can't even use any of the Web FB pages for Video Upload, because FB insists on using a Popup which doesn't work on any mobile browser, including Flash-friendly Skyfire.

Let's not even get into FB chat. Lack of that is simply criminal.

It's obvious to me, that Microsoft does not get FB as a SOCIAL tool. This application seems to only focus on the features that could be used by an BUSINESS user, providing in-field updates and messages only. The fact that Video Upload doesn't work at all for me, and is unreliable for those who claim they've gotten it to work at all, tells me that Microsoft doesn't even bother to test their own product at all. If they have Beta Testers, they must either not use the product as the rest of us would, or MS simply ignored their feedback.

This is a horrible app. The only reason it even earns one star is it has a nice interface and at least doesn't suck down battery life extensively by constantly using the data connection.

    "Should really be 1.0 beta"

    December 22, 2009  |   By henben2

Version: Facebook for Windows Mobile 6 1.0

    Pros

phone list, returning pokes, email, status update, pic/vid uploads.

    Cons

email, your own wall tab, photos tab.

    Summary

Should really be labeled a beta. Lots of improvement necessary. The MySpace for Windows Mobile has the same basic interface but is much better. So, Microsoft has already proven they can do better than this offering. Except for the first run my Wall is persistently showing Fetching and never displays anything. The list of email messages doesn't always immediately update. The photos tab is also slow to update. This is even with a full 5 bars of 3G signal. I do like that I can upload pics and vids directly through the interface instead of having to send as an email from my phone .All in all it's ok, but there's lots that can be improved.

"Unstable and long overdue for update"

    December 10, 2009  |   By Whiffmeister

Version: Facebook for Windows Mobile 6 1.0

    Pros

Nice layout, contact numbers of friends useful, quick access to updated

    Cons

Buggy, missing too many features, crashes often, very slow to update

    Summary

I now understand why people move away from WiMo. If this is the best that MS can come up with for their iPhone competitor then my advice would be to give up now. The more I use the WiMo, the more Apple or Android look attractive. Facebook itself updates more frequently and the app has not had a bug fix since May! I used the Facebook inbox tab successfully twice in my history of using it but now it crashes every time. I am reverting to m.facebook.com on the Opera browsers. At least I will have something that works.

"Good for the basics, but missing some useful features"

    November 3, 2009  |   By pcvguatemala

Version: Facebook for Windows Mobile 6 1.0

    Pros

LOVE uploading videos & pics straight from this app!
Great how you can comment and tag photos.
Easy access to phone numbers of your friends, to call, text or message them through facebook.

    Cons

You can't "like" a comment, no way to check out your groups or events.
The Wall page is also odd, you can see what other people have posted, the last comment of a post, new feeds, but any updates that person made don't show up!

    Summary

I find the online mobile web version more user friendly with the look, feel & features you are used to, however, the mobile pic & video upload feature of this program can't be beat!

    "barely worth using..."

    September 1, 2009  |   By AGROvate

Version: Facebook for Windows Mobile 6 1.0

    Pros

The version for the blackberry is much easier to use.

    Cons

nearly impossible to add a new friend from the app...so if you meet someone you have to just get their email and link up with them when you get to a computer. It is also difficult to follow a full thead of comments on any particular status.

    Summary

Whoever made the app...needs to get back to work bc windows mobile is getting it's azz kicked.
