    Pros

This ftp software is fast! as of now i didnt find anybugs.

The software is not userfriendly, if you are a newbie, you will find this software difficult,, whats next.. how to upload? how to.., why not imitate other ftp software? browser on the left side window, and a server browser on the right side.

    "Nice, but not for me."

    February 19, 2007  |   By margjos

    Version: FTP Surfer 1.0.7

    Pros

It really looks like IE, for those who like it. I made it uploading a file within 1 minute.

    Cons

    a) Missing a "select all", and I don't like to individually select 150 files or more to upload.

    b) How do I disconnect? (didn't find it before Timeout)

    "Simple and efficient"

    December 23, 2006  |   By ezbesthost1

    Version: FTP Surfer 1.0.7

    Pros

Your websites are all in one neighborhood, the file system is a tree, bulk files can be uploaded can be uploaded (using an explorer interface) or downloaded.

    Cons

Would like to see the ability to move/copy files between web folders.

    "Some issues, but great interface."

    December 17, 2006  |   By pinkgothic

    Version: FTP Surfer 1.0.7

    Pros

The interface is convincingly simple and the option to drag&drop files is a blessing.

I would give this program five stars, but:

    Cons

Minor gripe: *.php files aren't already set to ASCII, but *.pas are? That doesn't seem like the best defaults the program should install with. -- Major gripe: Especially with complex folder structures that take a while to traverse and upload, odd errors can and probably will occur. -- Example 1 - uploading TinyMCE (which has a fairly complex folder structure, and an odd megabyte in size), the connection aborted during upload, and the program did not immediately reconnect (despite settings), but continued to pretend nothing had happened and 'upload'. The errors might have shown in the dialog at the end, but as it was several files short of completing, it would've been hard to handle if you just wanted to know where the stream broke off. (I cancelled the transfer when I saw no change in behaviour.) -- Example 2 - Possibly due to the above error, I found occasional files that were in second-level folders in the top folder of TinyMCE, and third-level folder data in second-level folders (but the error propagated no deeper that I could see, though that might've been luck). It seemed, also from very sporadic "directory not found" messages, as though FTP Surfer's internal reference to where in the folder tree it was had 'broken'. --

Nonetheless, all of it was uploaded successfully, and the files that found themselves a level higher seem to be duplicates (though possibly only because I tried again). -- A few stray folders were left as open on the operating system, which become obvious as I was moving my local copy to another location, and some folders refused deletion. -- Despite my rating, it does have at least one major flaw, but it's ease of use rates it high in my book. It seems perfect for private use (and I intend on continuing to use it), but if you need an FTP program that reliably transfers large amounts of files in complex folder structures... stay away unless you don't mind watching it like a hawk.

    "Simple, execellent free program"

    July 17, 2005  |   By Wendy26

    Version: FTP Surfer 1.0.7

    Pros

It's free and just as good as Cute,Ws or others, I use it to download from FTP sites and to maintain my own personal webpage from my host, installed in less than 2 minutes. I would definitely recommend this one, if you need a few more options for your FTP, get the free Smart FTP, but this one is best for anyone not needing advanced options, I do a lot and I don't need advanced options.

    Cons

The only thing I don't like is I can have a window for the folders on my computer, like Cute offers, but that's not too important for this free proggie, if you want to upload, just click upload is all.

"Easy, quick, free drag-and-drop FTP of files and folders"

    June 25, 2005  |   By Scottelly

    Version: FTP Surfer 1.0.7

    Pros

I like this free program. The download is under one meg (small), but the features are nice. The setup was quick on my slow pentium II machine, and it runs without restarting Windows 98. You can drag from an explorer window like MyDocuments onto the FTP site contents window (main window), and the files upload quickly and efficiently. I hope it is truly free, and does not require you to upgrade it after a while like SmartFTP does.

    Cons

I like the interface, but it was not obvious that I could upload whole folders until I tried dragging from an explorer window. Otherwise I haven't found anything I particularly dislike. I've just started using it though.

    "Simply Bada$$"

    April 29, 2005  |   By islasian

    Version: FTP Surfer 1.0.7

    Pros

Very easy to setup and easy to operate. I like the fact that you can have multiple windows open. You can even drag and drop instead of using the upload/download buttons!!(which someone was complaining about ealier that they couldn't upload/download any other way). This thing is fast also, I was clocking it with Netpersec and I was averaging 92+Mbps transfer rates both ways!!

    Cons

Only one: Only if you could open two connections in one window, that would be nice.. I really haven't played around with it that much yet... so maybe???
