"Typical DAW software, I prefer Acid over FL"
Version: FL Studio 10.0.8
Pros
-Simple user interface
-fairly intuitive
-good for remixing
-decent for adding envelopes to modify loops
-availability of loops for this type of software makes for any genre of music creationCons
-Typical of most DAW software, trying to input MIDI or other devices is a pain!
-Necessity to be online to load sounds is a major setback
-cost!Summary
FL Studios is your stereotypical DAW, but it does offer more than most of their competitors. This and Sony Acid have generally been the 2 top contenders, but for the past several years most people have opted for FL over Acid. As I learned Acid first, i tend to use it much more, and much prefer the interface of it more.
As a downfall to both of these programs, they are both seriously lacking in ease of use when it comes to trying to use any sort of external device. I have an AKAI MPK, Korg Kaossilator & pad, PCDJ DAC4 and several other pieces of equipment, and getting any of it to work properly is a nightmare.
Depending on what your goal is, these programs can be both insanely helpful, but equally as hindering. If you are serious about creating music, and have external devices, then the best software on the market is Ableton Live. If you can afford it anyhow. -

"Best Music Composition Program I've Ever Used!"
Version: FL Studio 10.0.8
Pros
I've tried a few composition programs over the years. I started with garageband on someone else's mac. I HATED the way looping worked and how difficult it was to create your own melodies. Then, I downloaded Anvil Studio. It was okay, if you wanted to write MIDI files for video game music.
Then I discovered FL Studio. From the first time I opened the demo of version 8.0.0, I was able to make my own melodies with great ease. The amount of instruments available blew my mind. Plus, it's easy to find other instruments online. Since, I have written a few songs that have been very popular with my peers. I mainly write techno songs, but FL Studio is VERY versatile. I have also been able to write rock songs, classic music, and Christmas music.Cons
The only con I can think of is the cost. It's a bit expensive, but the price is justified by content of the program.
Summary
I recommend FL Studio everyone who is an aspiring musician. I have used it for the past 4 years and have LOVED it. It's worth every penny!

"Time to find another software."
Version: FL Studio 10.0.8
Pros
None discovered prior to finding out an abhorrent misfeature.
Cons
FL used to be good, until now, you have to be connected to the internet in order to load sounds from now on?!?!?!?! That's retarded, and unacceptable.
Summary
Luckily there are plenty of other fish in the sea. I just have to get used to another software. I know it for myself, it's a self fullfiling prophecy, If I say FL is going down, it will, unless if they change it back to local sound library, not INTERNET REQUIRED VST's.

"Fast music production and can move patterns with ease"
Version: FL Studio 10.0.8
Pros
powerful DAW,many many options, great way to program music with flexible pattern based composition (can just as easily create patterns per instrument, per verse, per song or a combination of all of these), nice project export features (zip project).
Cons
Small (but nice) mixer, recording audio not yet as easy or as intuitive as standard style music programs.
