FL is extremely powerful and has one of the best audio quality of any DAW. The program is always being updated. One of the strongest points is that you get free lifetime updates.

    Cons

Might have a steeper learning curve due it large amount of features. There is a limited time promotion to save 65% and get free beginner videos and access to over 2000 files (kits, projects) if you go here: http://nfurl.us/buyfl

    "10% Discount http://affiliate.image-line.com/BFHEHAH486"

    February 26, 2010  |   By FLSChan

    Version: FL Studio 9 9.0.3

    Pros

+ Piano roll and step sequencer are so smooth
+ Tons of plugins included, fx and instruments
    + Samples are pretty nice.
+The FPC samples are really great, nice acoustic drum sounds.
    +Free Lifetime Updates

    Cons

    - Playlist can be a little hard to keep organized.
    - Wish it came with more color schemes

    Summary

You can't compare FL Studio to other software. It's so unique and fun. It's a must have for any computer musician. At least give it a try. Even if you don't use it much, the free lifetime updates makes it a great investment for now and the future.
I love how fast I can just create a beat in the Step Sequencer, paint that patterns into the playlist. Then create a melody in another pattern, and paint that in the playlist. It's so easy.
Recording audio is great with Edison. Slice-x is a great sample slicing tool. Maximus is a top notch mastering plugin, just a great value when included in the Signature Bundle.
I can use my computer's keyboard or a MIDI keyboard to record my notes. Or just paint them in the piano roll. So many options and so many ways to get things done. Just plain fun to create music with FL Studio.
Support is fantastic, the guys at Image-Line are great. They take good care of their customers. If you want to save some money buying it, buy it directly from Image-Line (lifetime free updates included), and use this 10% discount link http://affiliate.image-line.com/BFHEHAH486
You'll love it. Just practice with it and read up on tutorials.

Good for recording and making beats, loads of control, able to be used inside other recording software (rewiring) e.g. inside Adobe Audition or Reason. Can be coupled with music keyboard through MIDI or you can use computer keyboard to play and record music.

"FL Studio is a serious music production studio"

    December 30, 2009  |   By how3

    Version: FL Studio 9 9.0.3

    Pros

Very simple to use, great effects and loads of free samples included

    Cons

Yes the top end version is a little expensive, but less than other products on the market

    Summary

    10% Saving - http://affiliate.image-line.com/BGCHFHH490

Forget the editors comments, FL Studio goes from strength to strenth. Compared to other software on the market it's very simple to use and you can be creating Drum & Bass through to Soulful House in no time.

The top end version give us more than enough sounds and effects to create some nice tracks, but if you tight for cash make sure you buy the "Juice Pack" for the low end version. For the serious producers out there, FL Studio neatly interfaces with third party plugins such as Native Instruments "Komplete 6" givng you access to some really highend sound production.

    Absolutly love this product

"User-Friendly, Pro Software, Great for beginners"

    December 18, 2009  |   By TranceManiac

    Version: FL Studio 9 9.0.3

    Pros

This program is easy to use, has 64 channels to work with, limitless loop channels, great automation features, and is just plain fun to operate.

    Cons

It's a great program, but you'd better have a good computer to work with. Something along the lines of an "average" computer, and you'll be having issues after the eighth channel with effects. Slower computer problems consists of cracking sound, ect

    Summary

I've been using this program for about two years now. When I started, I had zero knowledge of music production, or any music programs for that matter. I had a little knowledge of keyboards, piano, and guitar; and that was it. In about an hour I had my first loop spinning, and about a month later, was on my way to creating some cool trance beats. This program is very easy to use and maneuver through. It can also be a learning curve for those trying to get into music production. I highly recommend this program to anyone knew to the mixing world.

Now, for the cons.. The only con I will give this program is that is uses a good chunk of memory to run multiple effects on multiple channels. If your computer is the average computer, you'll do great in the beginning; but will need to render out small bits to figure out where you are later towards the end of your production. However, if you have a rather fast computer, you shouldn't have any worries at all.
