"I am trying it out today for the first time"
Version: EyeConnect 1.6.7
Pros
I am able to connect and stream movies, videos, and music with some degree of success.
Cons
The movies and videos stop after a few minutes.
The streaming sometimes continues after pausing.
Streaming sometimes stops with an error.
The network sometimes disconnects.
Music streaming works sometimes, but wont connect at other times.Summary
Will need to look into possible solutions.
Maybe problem with the router type (NETGEAR WPN824v3)
May be signal strength too low, shows 2 bars. -
"Solves DLNA problem seeing MacBook for Samsung PN58B650"
Version: EyeConnect 1.6.4
Pros
Simple to install. Quickly sees TV and is recognized by Samsung PN58B650. Allows you to link to any folder on your Mac. Works fine with iPhoto.
Cons
Does not read iTunes or iMovie files. Must convert music to MP3 and drag to separate folder, and movies to MPEG4 to view. May be iTunes copyright limitation, not software problem. Must quit DLNA on TV to reload, if you make changes to files.
Summary
Solves the first round of problems connecting Mac to Samsung HDTV. Too bad iMusic and .mov files are not recognized. 30 day trial is good. $50 price seems fair for full function after trial. If you're only wanting to do photo slide shows, it works immediately. If you want music and movies from your Mac, there's more work involved. Very easy to install for MacBook running OSX Version 10.5.8 using Ethernet connection from Airport Express.

"works with dlink HD media player"
Version: EyeConnect 1.1
Summary

works with dlink HD media player. the hd video in xvod works fine, i have problems with some mp4 files though.
also when i pause longer than a few seconds the media player stops the video and i have to start over and forward to the position i was at before it got stopped, very annoying...
otherwise everything works... i have gotten up to bitrates of 10-12Mbit with HDTV over the air ATSC recordings from my eyeTV ATSC tuner, awesome;-)
i find it very expensive though... -
"EyeConnect Barely Works and is not Worth a Nickel"
Version: EyeConnect 1.1
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
While the software does have potential it does not work well with the PS3. I was able to view files from the PS3 but unable to play most everything I tried. I did get some pictures to play (after retrying & retrying) but eventually the PS3 crashed. I also got numerous network errors when trying to play video files and eventually got one of the files to play on the PS3. Music files seemed to work more than the video & photo featuress bud definitely did not work smoothly. -
"Really easy to install - runs great"
Version: EyeConnect 1.1
Summary

I just got my new Philips Streamium and EyeConnect 1.1.
What can I say? It just runs wonderfully, even if I record or watch tv using EyeTV (or doing some other work on the computer).
It even plays back HD content over my (wired) network.
Installation couldn't be easier also.
Now just waiting for LiveTV! ;-) -
